Super Rat Frame Number
I have come across a Rat with Frame # B-41986 and engine # P 25496 with a spare engine of P 30278. Frame head tube plate is 1970. In looking at the production number chart this frame number is not listed. Any ideas as to why?

Re: Headlight issue
Thank you for all of the advice. I dig learning all of his stuff. So I unplugged the switch from the mag leads, I cut the harness off an old, non working switch to the mag lead so I would have the four wires to attach test leads to , the black, green, yellow and blue. I attached the blue to ground a...

Re: Headlight issue
Isn't my battery going to drain? I beginning to think either the lighting coils are not up to speed or the ignition switch (new) is defective. I am going to start the bike without the ig switch, just run grounds from the blue leads off the mag and pull the volts off the mag leads, the green and the ...

Re: 92B+ Forks
Yup, this is the type of fork I have, the ones listed by dirty rat. They thunk on full extension. I will try the heavier oil to minimize the thunking, not much else I can do. I think my bike is a miss match of 100 B and B+. It has the lower fender, the trip speedo, the 100 mph speedo and frame # A52...

Headlight issue
I am seeking some help on getting my headlight to work on a 94 Wombat. I have built up a bike and I had Greg Watkins build up a magnito for me. I have finished assembly and have a great running bike with one issue. The Headlight will not work. However the headlight works on DC mode, both hi and lo b...

Re: H motor rebuild
Here are photos of the cylinder. Who knows what the standard bore is on these? I want to see how much over this cylinder is. Ques, did Hodaka make a model that used this cylinder stock, or is this a modification that had to be done to a non reeded cylinder? Or is this a parts purchase from Hodaka? c...

H motor rebuild
I am rebuilding an H motor I inherited when I bought a Super Combat last year with the wrong engine for the bike. Upon opening up the motor, I can see it is somewhat of a Frankenstein set up. Has the CW or SC head, iron cylinder that is set up to run a reeded intake. Looks like a model 94 cylinder. ...

Re: 92B+ Forks
My 92B+ fork is old school. Definitely not the same as the CW fork. There is no top out springs in them. Just the one long spring. The lower legs do not have the bolts in them to release the piston, etc. I will try the 30w oil and ride them as they are.

92B+ Forks
During the restore of my 92B+ forks, I noticed after re assembly they rebound with a thunk! The tubes come all they way up to the end of their travel and thunk real hard. Is this the normal fork activity for this bike? Does thicker oil solve the problem? I do not notice this in the CW fork. As alway...

I ended up using the Chev orange red paint, and found this to be a very very close match for the 100B+. Covered with clear. Thanks for the info. On my way to the reassembly now.

Kick Stand Springs
What is the magical formula for getting kick stand springs installed?
I can wrestle with them but I may end up with a lasting injury. I was hoping one of you could inspire me with the method.
Thanks. Dave.

Re: Just picked up 3 Wombats
What a cool story on your purchase. I have noticed I meet the neatest characters in my Hodaka parts and bike searches. Just a few weeks ago I chased down an Ace 100 B+ on Craigs list. When I pulled up to the house, he had a rare Chevy Vega wagon, cherry, in the drive way and a Covair under a cover. ...

Re: Just picked up 3 Wombats
Holy Cow, we sure do. Get yourself a good manual and start reading past posts on these. Get your engine numbers and look them up, start with that, least you will have the cases figured out. Come to Hodaka Days next month and we can set you up with all the info you need. You can add your own flair or...

Ace 90
I saw a barn find Ace 90 for sale on Craigs list today. Looks to be all complete with key and Hodaka tool bag in the tool holder!. Heck, the Tire pump may be there under the tank for all I know. Not running but a real good specimen for a nice restore. I would buy it but have too many others going on...

Re: Paint
Good stuff here, thanks for all of the info. Rogers color looks spot on for my less than 20/20 vision. At least the best we can do to represent the Hodaka moniker.
