victor the fly wheel worked out great . had it welded as per the service bulletin and starts and shifts and every thing goes around like it should . took it to the local car show this year and the guy i got it from came up and was amazed at how it looked , started it up for him and he was very happy...

I would think there's some kind of drag somewhere in the drive train , rear wheel or engine that allows the counter shaft or sprocket to hammer away at each other . Just a shade tree mechanic thinking

up date... rear number plates on a few other tweak's and its ready for the local car show next week . it started running poorly and found there was no spring air adjusting screw , what the @#&$! . anyway got that taken care of and its back to running good again ..... albert

Yes took it for a ride around the yard and runs great, shifts in all gears , grandson rode it and passed his inspection , then the next day we got about a foot of snow and I'm waiting for it to totally disappear and warm up a little so I won't get it dirty ...albert

so my carb leak was with the gasket on the bowl . as you can see by the photo i believe the gasket was not full , ? , enough in the corners to acutely make a seal. i took the carb off and checked it all out put it back on still leaked so off again and saw that the filter was suspect so i painstaking...
