Re: Ace 100B Rear tailight
Dirty, I know right. I still think the switch wasn't working right prior to that on the rear brake because I had no continuity between the leads when I pulled on it. I drilled out the rivets and took it apart. Cleaned up the corrosion on the inside and it seemed to fix that problem but obviously was...

Re: Ace 100B Rear tailight
Hey guys, thanks for all the help. Ended up being the bulb. It looked good, but when I flipped it around the brake light worked but taillight didn't. New bulb should do the trick. Thanks again.

Re: Ace 100B Rear tailight
Victor, as I mentioned, when I pull on the spring loaded switch, I used my meter to test for continuity between the two leads coming off of it. When I pull it the two make contact. If that's how it supposed to work.

Ace 100B Rear tailight
Hi guys, long time since I've used the forum for help. Hoping to get some direction on the Ace 100B. The rear tailight works, as in it lights up when running but does nothing when applying rear brake. The switch works, meaning I have continuity between the two poles when pulling on the switch. Any h...

Re: shifting
Hey guys, I will go over those components and check for wear on the the plunger. Almost positive the spring is fine and had 2 washers with it when I reassembled. It definitely clicks and there is moderate resistance when the bike is off. But when air shift from 3rd, 4th, and fifth it doesn't feel li...

shifting
Hey fellas, wondering if this is normal for the 98's. When I run through gears on mine while riding I don't feel much resistance or "clicking" when I shift. Almost wouldn't know that you shifted if it wasn't for the rpms decreasing. When the bike is off you can definately feel the shifter ...

Re: Rough acceleration
Hey guys, thanks for the great advice. After a long weekend of watching my son's baseball team struggle it was good to have something go right...lol. Ran the bike tonight with needle clip on the 3rd slot...was in the 4th the bike had zero stutter. Pretty proud of it. But thanks again!

Re: Rough acceleration
Ed, after replicating your test, I've found that my choppy acceleration seems to occur between 1/4 and half throttle. Usually evening out right before or around half but it definitely begins at 1/4.

Ed, that makes perfect sense. If I would of been thinking more forth dimensionally I would of figured it out but I have a real problem with that. Thanks for explaining.

Rough acceleration
Hey guys, so things went pretty smooth rebuilding the squirt but I have some issues with 1st and 2nd gear acceleration. There is a subtle stutter most of the time when opening the throttle up that I dont get in 3rd, 4th or fifth. The bike starts great and idles fine. Wondering if I have a jetting is...

Thanks for weighing in....are we back on the topic now? Lol. My question is how long before the pump stops working or oil stops getting to the motor before detonating?

Rubber noise reducers?
Hey guys how effective are the the noise reducers on the dirt squirt? Are there any pros or cons to them. Besides originality would I gain anything from them?

I'm assuming if was some after market part stuck on the bike? I ended up cutting off the one end so I could get some stealwool in it. Good enough for now.

muffler packing 01
So I took out the packing today which was pretty bad, after taking it out I got to looking and was wondering how you put the new packing around with because the inner part is pretty tight to the outer part when you slide it in. Also looking at the schematic, the parts I have aren't the same. Here ar...

Re: Oil for injection?
Bullfrog, it's not the pumps fault it has a good design that suits its environment. Maybe a lot of other things need to be designed to better suit their environment. I think you're onto something.

Well I don't want feel like I'm taking a gamble here so Thanks for reinsuring me. I'll be watching things closely. I'm amazed at how durable these old pumps are. Wish they still made stuff like that but we have to keep people working.
