Yes, that makes sense. Thank you sir for the part #!rlkarren wrote:Yes, just use an 1154 bulb instead of the 1157. Same bulb, different voltage.

Re: What tail light? 1965 Ace 90
Ah, shoot. Something occurs to me... I suppose the light has to be 6V? Most of these reproductions I'm seeing are 12V. Will they work?

Re: What tail light? 1965 Ace 90
When restoring these old gems, the correct parts will show up eventually, but be prepared to wait. I've waited up to a year or more for certain Ace 90 or Super Rat parts. Paul has a lens in his used inventory, and there is a backing plate, sans wiring, on eBay right now. If that doesn't work for yo...

Re: What tail light? 1965 Ace 90
I think I answered my own question, as this nice '65 for sale has the "Early" version tail light and higher frame number than mine http://automotoclassicsale.com/node/6815
Like I said, if I can't find it, I'll probably get a round one....

What tail light? 1965 Ace 90
I am on the hunt for the correct stock tail light (socket, lens, bracket, the whole deal) for my 65 Ace 90 (frame #0575) I am seeing it a few different ways: A socket and lens with a more polygon shape with an angle in the top center, and a symmetrical look This is referred to as the "Early&quo...

Re: Ace 90 - Blank Side Covers???
The box is indeed for the battery. There is a charging circuit for the battery included in the magneto that is separate from the ignition circuit. Therefore the bike will run just fine sans battery The battery operates the horn and is available to operate the lights in an emergency situation where ...

Ace 90 has no battery - what does it do?
Hi again. I just bought a 1965 Ace 90 and am going over its issues. Can someone explain to me the purpose of the battery? There is an empty battery holder on this bike (it doesn't have a battery) Yet it runs. I believe the headlight works. Not sure about the taillight, it is not hooked up right now ...

Re: Ace 90 - Blank Side Covers???
Happy to say that yes, I brought the bike home. About the serial number, it is A0575. I assume that means the 575th one made? If so is that the 575th in 1965, or since the very beginning of production (in 1964?) Anyway... Yes, my plan, as with my previous restoration project is to make it as correct...

Re: Ace 90 - Blank Side Covers???
Thanks guys for the info. I take it Roger you saw the rest of the pics in the Craigslist ad? Too bad about the wrong handlebars, oh well... What about the front fender is modified? You can sorta see the bracket that holds the rubber deal in the one photo but the rubber appears to be gone.

Ace 90 - Blank Side Covers???
I am about to purchase my first Hodaka, a 65 Ace 90. First, kudos to your amazing group and website! All the photos I have seen of Ace 90s, there is a round plate on each side of the engine case, on one side it says Hodaka and on the other side it says Ace 90. Looking at the photos of this bike on C...
