Re: "O Sweetness"
Forgive my ignorance, but are those stars from some kind of photo filter? If so, that's good to know, I was wondering why my gas tank did not shine with "stars" like that. Ha! Thanks Gentlemen

Hercules,
I could not have said that any better myself, 100 percent right on the mark! And I am sure the new owners will do much better than the previous ones. You know they will! Happy New Year! Thanks Gentlemen.

Re: lousy customer service
After I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with someone and they don't even have the courtesy to respond to a question I have. They are not going to get my business anymore. No wonder they sold the business. They did not give a hoot. You guys can make excuses and support them all you want...

Re: lousy customer service
I am sorry if the truth hurts, but constructive criticism is the best thing. What I have said is the truth. They need to have a phone, they need to answer their emails. If they don't want to that's fine. I am going to do my business elsewhere until that happens. The new owners if they wish to provid...

Re: lousy customer service
You could not be more correct! That's it. If they ignore my emails that I have sent over several years of doing business with them then I need to do business with somebody who will communicate with me. Yes everyone is busy, but you have to take care of your customers. I made several million dollars ...

Re: lousy customer service
No I am not off the mark. They have never responded to my emails ever. They don't even have a phone number listed on their website. I have tried to contact them for weeks. Sorry but I will not do business with them anymore. I will do business where they will talk to me and help me.

lousy customer service
Sorry I have to post something negative but somebody needs to wake up if they want my business. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of parts from one of the Hodaka parts companies but I am going to stop and give all my business to Strictly Hodaka and Bruce Young from now on. I just ordered seve...

Re: "O Sweetness"
Hey guys, Look at what the people at Salt Lake Chrome sent me for a little Christmas present. How nice and thoughtful of them!
I did not expect that, it was a total surprise.

Re: "O Sweetness"
Yes that's it, I would have felt bad just talking about taking business away from them when they hosted it. But competition is the way it is everywhere in this world and they don't host it anymore. Besides, I have bought a lot of parts from all the parts people and will continue to do so. They get a...

Re: "O Sweetness"
Post it, this country still is free is it not? Or I don't know about that, maybe its not. I get amazed at seeing the cartoon characters in some of the old Hodaka literature and manuals chasing some young babe around. How times have changed right. That's sexual assault in this goofy country nowadays....

Re: "O Sweetness"
Joe Ormonde had posted previously about buying 6mm bolts that have a plain finish on the heads just like OEM Hodaka 6mm bolts had years ago. He said that Motodad24 sold them on Ebay for about $15.00 for 25 ea. including postage. I ordered about 75 in two different sizes. I need them for my twin Rat ...

Re: PVR York swapmeet 2018
That would be real nice if I could attend that. I drove all the way to PA before to pick up a milling machine and it was a blast. Ill bet that swap meet would be a good place to find parts. Cool!

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
You are very welcome Matt. On the MAPP set up I don't know if its hot enough to melt brass, just have to try it. With Oxygen it might be. Dad Gum thieves, sorry about that.

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
Just a few notes, Remember to clean every thing down to bare metal, either grinding, sand blasting, etc. Use a dissimilar metal such as aluminum to back up the area where you want to repair. It keeps the molten brass from falling through and helps to keep the metal from warping from the heat when it...

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
Ok gentlemen here are some more pics to go with my post. Note the white rod in the necessary equipment pic, that's you flux covered 3/32 inch dia. brass rod. They come in three foot lengths. Make sure to get the correct flame configuration before you start. Look at the bright orange color of the met...

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
In a while I will post some more pics concerning W.A.R. on old seat pans. I would just like to say that before anyone tries this on your seat pan that you should practice first on some scrap sheet metal rather than on your seat pan. Practice by welding two pieces of sheet metal together that are the...

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
Good Idea! I keep forgetting about the resonator. Thank you brother! Yeah that's right, all these old bikes have a rusty cracked seat pan on them right. They could be made heavier duty but then they would have been heavier. The seat pan on my Bultaco Sherpa S 100cc weighs a ton and a half. Know wond...

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
I am going to start on some instructions for welding using brass welding rod and an oxy-acetylene torch. The most important thing in order to do a good weld is to prepare the metal. It should be absolutely clean of all rust, paint, dirt etc. The best way to do this on a rusty pan is to sand blast it...

Re: Twin Rat Restoration
When I get the new foam and cover I will post the installation of those items onto the seat pan also. I have never done a Hodaka seat before. I have only done Bultaco seats. On the Bultaco seats I used aluminum pop rivets and adhesive to secure the cover to the fiberglass pan. Slightly different tha...
