Re: 03 Wombat Injection Pump
We all like pictures, so here is a follow up to my oil pump topic. The pictures are of the pump that is leaking injector oil. I didn't take the pump fully apart as I just wanted to get the cam shaft out. In order to do this the bottom plate has to be removed and then the cylinder and spring as well...

Re: 03 Wombat Injection Pump
Thanks Ed. The horse has left the barn as I already have removed it. Before I did so I submerged the whole thing in a tub of water and blew air through the oil intake line and bubbles erupted from behind the metering shaft. ( not sure if that's what its called ). Removed the pump from side case and ...

03 Wombat Injection Pump
I have an 03 Wombat that I rebuilt, but it has a problem. It runs well using the oil injection system, and I have put @200 miles on it using straight gas. The pump is therefore pumping oil. But, It leaks oil out of the metering shaft (?). Enough to leave a pool on the ground overnight. Hodaka parts ...

Re: 03 Wombat rebuild questions
Thank you all. I guess what I'm thinking is to have the hole drilled for the bearing so that I can run pre mix while I make sure the pump is working. I have talked to Terry about this and he' thinks there is no wrong answer. Either way is fine. And he does not have any oversized 03 pistons, which ki...

03 Wombat rebuild questions
What are the opinions on oil injection . I have searched and it seems that some love it and some don't. I plan on having the hole drilled in the transfer port so that I can use pre mix but for some reason I think I would still like a functioning injection system. That being said I understand that ov...

Re: 2021 road or trail rides
Hope my pic is attached. Just a few miles down river from Tonasket where the Toad pics were taken. East Wenatchee Wa. The Columbia river is at the bottom of the hill. I am surrounded by hundreds of acres of orchard and that is where I ride for now. I really like the ride thread concept. It seems lik...

Re: Carbs...carbs....carbs...
I also have an early Wombat with the early style carb. I've been tinkering with it off and on for years and have never been able to get it to run the way I would like. I was told about the "boat anchor carb" issue and was lucky enough to find a "good" carb on ebay. I assumed once...

94 Wombat Condenser Availability
Hi all, I need a condenser for a 94 Wombat. Hodaka Parts has them listed but I checked and they said the source they had went out of busuness . Is there a solution to this ?
Thanks, Loren
Thanks, Loren

Re: garden shed find
Thanks everybody for the advice. I also own an old style klr650. They are notorious for faded plastic. Mine is currently the salmon pink color. A lot of people on klr forums recommend pledge furniture polish. Ive done that but it doesnt last. I am also a woodworker and have a couple scrapers. That i...

Re: garden shed find
You answered a question I had. I wasn't sure that if the hole was drilled the injection could still be used. I would like to use premix until im sure oil is being pumped. But I dont want to fry the bearing in the process. Another question I had was if the wombat and road toad stators are the same. I...

Re: garden shed find
Thanks. I was really excited when I saw it. The front fender is pretty oxidized but everything else is nice. It does have the case stud? Behind the countershaft sprocket missing. But I guess ill have to live with that. Do you use the oil injection ? Id really like to. It is second in line right now ...

garden shed find
Im currently working on a 94 wombat project and was curious if there might be some parts out there that would be useful. Put an ad on craigslist and this is what I found. Its really clean and complete with a couple of caveats. The PO never had it running . He said it was electrical. So there are two...

Re: Introduction and 94 Wombat carb question
Yes I have verified that I have the bad carb. The pictures somewhere on this forum show the difference quite well. The frame number on my bike is c00195 and that's pretty early so it makes sense that I've got the bad one. The thing that's curious to me though is that the bike as near as I can tell i...

Re: Introduction and 94 Wombat carb question
Thanks everyone for the replies. It seems the consensus is go ahead and use the type A carb that I have. The bike seems to be running okay. It is just so long since I've ridden a 125 or any for that matter any two stroke that my frame of reference is pretty much gone. I am attempting to attach a pho...

Introduction and 94 Wombat carb question
Hi everybody. I'm new here but not necessarily new to Hodakas. My habit has seemed to come and go over the years. I thought I was over it when I watched Greg Watkins and his wife pull out of my driveway in Wenatchee with their motorhome stuffed with a garage full of bikes and miscellaneous parts abo...
