Re: WOT breaking up a bit 94A Wombat
Ed I agree it didn't make sense to me to change to a 130 MJ. I do think there was less bogging down with the larger jet(150) than the standard 140. In fact I sure there was less bogging down. I do have a question on timing, I replaced the points and condesor but is it possible to not be correct on t...

Re: WOT breaking up a bit 94A Wombat
Yeas I did everything you mentioned including the timing, new plug and rebuild of the carb. When went from the stock 140 jet to 150 I felt like the bike ran better across the lower rpm range. I think I'll try a 130 to see if that makes the bike run better. I'm a bit concerned about running too lean.

Re: WOT breaking up a bit 94A Wombat
This happens 35/40 mph on the road. Gearing is 14/56. Pretty sure intake is not the issue or for that matter a clogged pipe, I Judi installed a new air filter and checked the pipe

Re: sudden loss of spark 94A Wombat
Good news, got spark! I pushed in the white translucent plug to the ignition switch and got spark, hard to believe that was the issue, I blew out with compressor and put a small dab of dielectric grease on each of the female side of the spades. Made sure to wipe off the rest so I won't get a short a...

Re: sudden loss of spark 94A Wombat
Thx Danny I pulled the flywheel during my initial clean up and general adjusting prior to firing up the bike, I have a flywheel puller, I like the idea of finding a grounded wire or something of that description. I had very good spark prior to firing up the bike so it seems like something failed big...

sudden loss of spark 94A Wombat
Hey guys just got the Wombat running last weekend, was running perfect, ran the bike 3-4 times, shut it down didn't attempt to start again for 1 week, suddenly no spark at all. I assume everything on this bike is 40+ years old. I haven't pulled the cover and fly wheel yet but should I assume condens...

Re: front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
Excellent info, I'll look at the shoes to see the wear pattern, I presume they are original shoes as the bike only shows 910 miles on the clock. I'll give the sheet metal on the cam a try, I moved the brake cam lever already to no avail. You guys are great thx for your advice it is really appreciated.

Re: front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
Thanks again, I looked at the set up again last night, I really feel the issue is the cable which I will replace, the shoes are old but not much wear on them so there is a lot of material still there. That being the case the I should at least not be bottoming out the lever with the proper adjustment...

Re: front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
Thanks, I looked at the first article already and I see how unbelievably wrong I put the front wheel on. LOL I'll look through all of the articles and get it right. My Wombat is till not ready for primetime but I'm getting close, maybe this weekend.

Re: front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
I'll give cleaning the shoes another try, I rubbed them with some steel wool but maybe I'll use some sand paper instead, the drums looked pretty clean, the real issue seems to be when I clamp down on the hand lever I end up touching the hand grip with out enough pressure to fully engage the pads or ...

front brake adjustment 94A Wombat
Need a little help, I am trying to adjust the front brake on my soon to be finished 94A Wombat. I am finding that there is not much braking power after I adjust the front brake lever to 1/4", if I continue to tighten adjustment screws then the front wheel drags as the brake shoes are engaging. ...

Re: Just purchased 73 wombat
Thank you to all I'll send photos out, the bike shows 910 miles. It is in pretty good shape both cosmeticly and from a wear stand point, I raced hare scrambles with a super rat and a combat but I've never had a street wombat so I'm not quite as familiar or I've forgotten a bit, hate to admit the lat...

Just purchased 73 wombat
Hello, hoping to get advice on starting a wombat that has not been run in about 7 years, there is fuel in the tank that I need to dispose of but not sure what I should regarding rust issues in the tank. I plan to remove carb and clean, I think that shouldn't be to big an issue, there is not battery ...
