Re: Ace 90 engne locked up
Paul sells an overhaul kit which has all the bearings, bushings, seals, and gaskets you need to update your motor. If the motor is set up from setting, a quick hone and new rings may get it going again. That is the kit I plan on getting, plus whatever else is needed to fix the engine from being loc...

I won't be buying my parts from Ebay.taber hodaka wrote:I worry that someone would put in a bearing like listed on ebay for $1.04 delivered. I would suggest American, Japan, or german Ect. I have seen some that are a very poor quality. Also only in my opinion seals really can harden and need replaced. Clarence

Re: Ace 90 engne locked up
What is the history? Did it lock up just lately? Has it been rebuilt before. How long has it sat? How many miles? If the rings, piston and bore are clean and within tolerance?? I would rather a old tight quality bearing over a new cheap one. ----Clarence My father owned it from new. It has had a ne...

Ace 90 engne locked up
My father's 67 Ace 90 engine is locked up. He did not tell me how it happened. This means a rebuild will happen sooner than I expected. Since I do not know if I am replacing major components like a piston or jug, or worse, I am waiting till I tear it apart before I come up with a list of parts to re...

Re: Parts for sale/Wanted
Thanks Ed well said. Charlie I can appreciate getting the parts out to the Hodaka faithful. But by allowing people to post parts for sale here directly competes with what we do. We sell parts that help to pay for more parts which pays for the hosting of this discussion group etc.. I figured allowin...

Re: Gramps 1965 ACE 90 Finished
Hi everyone, I just wanted to throw up some pictures of my ACE90 which I dragged out of gramps garage a year ago. A special thanks to Paul for all of his help and parts, Roger for the beautiful engine rebuild, Jeff for the mirror finish on the chrome, and everyone on here who has helped me all alon...

Rebuilding my father's old Ace 90
My father bought a 1968 Hodaka Ace 90 from the showroom floor. He is the original owner. He is still alive and well, but is now at an age where he does not feel comfortable riding much. He gave me his old bike, in pieces. How in pieces? Well, the engine is sitting on a board. The front forks are off...

Re: Restoring my father's bike
Parts between the Ace 90 and a Wombat 125 are largely not interchangeable. The entire engine would probably swap, but really, the technology for the rest of the bike is different. Parts are generally available from Strictly Hodaka, including seals. Get a shop manual to become familiar with the proc...

Restoring my father's bike
I am now the owner of my father's 1968 Hodaka Ace 90. He bought it off the showroom floor. It is mainly complete. I know it is missing the headlight and the toolbox. It ran, but is now in pieces. My goal is to restore it what it looked like in 1968. Has anyone ever done a complete teardown and rebui...
