Just wondering.. I'm going to lace some new wheels for one of my combat wombats. I had a KX250 that had black excel rims and looked pretty cool. how would black rims look on the Hodaka? I'm NOT concerned about resale value.
Has anyone seen it done before?

Oh.. hadn't even thought about how it might affect geometry even if just the wheelbase..I'll set one in a bike and do some basic measurements to see what happens. I would like to do the rear wheel too at some point. thanks for the input.

They leak when they are In the off position.
They don't shut off.
There is no leak where they screw into the tank(s).

I've got 3 Combat Wombats, so that means 6 (SIX!) leaking petcocks. I've considered plumbing in some of those $4 plastic lawn mower shut offs on a few of the bikes.. how NOT cool would that look? :/ Is there a proven way to rebuild the original brass petcocks, or should I just spend the $240 and buy...

I swear the thrust button was in the cover when I assembled it.. but it's a slippery little thing. I'll drain it and pull the cover. It's got to be something stupid like that.

I understand disc friction, and certainly cable free play. It doesn't roll free in any gear. I'm concerned that there's something wrong in my installation of the clutch. I'll just keep playing with it. Thank you.

I installed new clutch disks and plates in a dirt squirt. I have all the necessary play taken out of the cable, but when I pull the clutch lever the bike doesn't roll free when in gear. should I have soaked the new fiber disks in oil before assembly? never ran into this before.

I bought a small herd of Hodakas recently, and with one of the Combat Wombats I got a box of lighting parts. Did a Combat Wombat ever come with lights originally or is this just stuff from a Wombat?
