Kelly, tell us more---I've always wondered about that. Any replaceable parts?

Re: Day One - New Project
Charlie I don't have a clue--but it is fun to have one strewn all over the shop again! I got the engine apart this afternoon and I'm contemplating which direction to go. I'm leaning toward trials or maybe just a fun trail bike for a loaner when friends visit. I'm playing it by ear! I think my friend...

Step #1 – Disassembly Complete. Now to the engine for Step #2.
Engine #P31678, Frame #A29003, I'm guessing a 1969 Model 92.

Looks to be a good purchase! Yikes, I see a cool XS-650 in the background also. I'm addicted to those too! As AZ says, so many rides--Have fun with the new RT and keep us posted on new mods and updates.

Re: Day One - New Project
Remount the pipe and lay down the shocks. Done! This makes me giggle every time I go by it. I do have a serious flat on the front. Clarence said to stuff it with Bear grass but we don't have any in Kansas, I wonder if Switch grass will work? just wonderin'---- 8-) Maxie " I broke the bead fill...

Laurie--While watching your neat video I could not help noticing how nice those parts looked. Any special processes that you're keeping secret? (besides elbow grease?)--Just wondering--

Re: Webco parts for Early Super Rat
I would like your help and advice in building this bike. I will chronicle the build as we go but don't expect daily updates. I have to pay for this stuff This reminds of a guy who once told me "I spent all my money on women, beer and motorcycles, the rest I just wasted."--Well spoken--- :...

Yes,That art on the tank IS starting to worry me! I probably won't use that tank anyway--Maybe it will be wall art for the Hodaka shop with all my other silly stuff!--Just thinkin'.--
Thanks Laurie!

Re: Day One - New Project
Charlie--It's not as good as it looks--the cannibals ate all the small but necessary parts like grease fittings, controls, bolts, foot brake shaft, exhaust flange, kick stand and on and on. Whatever that's not missing is broken. I think all I got was a frame and a questionable engine. It will still ...

Day One - New Project
OK--I just unloaded the new project. I don't know what its future is, but this is the start! Hmmm---Trials Bike? Cafe Racer?? Rat Rod??? So many possibilities. First, better check the engine to see what I have. I'll keep you posted. This could be fun!

Re: Gear Set Identification
Clarence--Thanks for jogging my memory on the 91 series of parts. I wonder if the kickstart gear, foot change ratchet and control shaft were the same parts for the new Ace 100s and just renumbered? The schematic on the Ace 100 shows both countershafts but only one control shaft--Just thinking. Short...

Wow Charlie--looks like a fun project! It looks like you have almost everything. Webco was a great company to work with and they supplied a large part of my aftermarket sales. I used to get so excited when the new Webco catalog arrived! Keep us posted----

Re: Gear Set Identification
Charlie--I don't remember any local racers by that name but then again I can't remember what happened last Thursday! There were sure a lot of Hodaka dealers in the area at that time. Seems like almost every town had one and they all raced with a passion. What fun! That was a long time ago but I thin...

Re: Gear Set Identification
Charlie--The first of these kits came with the 914601R snap-ring countershaft and 924702 kick start gear. The standard 924601 countershaft will also work. The schematic for the Ace 100cc on SH shows both shafts. Once the Ace 100s were out the CR kits were probably sold as yours is shown (less the pr...

Re: Projects
Looks tough enough for me--you're probably not going to do any triples in the near future. I think it will be fine, just put it on your inspection list and check everything as we all should occasionally. The projects look fun! Keep us posted. What's next?

Re: Gear Set Identification
Hey Charlie--how complete is the gear set? Seems like the 91 gear set had a matching kick start gear and a countershaft with a snap ring instead of nut to hold the sprocket on. I might be interested in part or all of what you have. By the way I only live two hours from you and visit a good friend an...

Hey Ed--Do you remember which issue? That's a lot of material to sort through (All excellent of course!) I also recommend joining the Hodaka Club, the Resonator is great and full of useful articles and history. I still haven't got through all of the back issues! Also don't forget Paul at Strictly Ho...

If Paul can't replace just the individual parts you need try Niche Cycle supply in Florida. I use them for my non-Hodaka projects and recommend them.

Re: First Time Hodaka Restoration--Need help
Hi Steve--I'll stall until the old real experts get out of bed. That sounds like a lot of space to make up to get the LH nut on. Check and see if the rotor gear and the pinion gear are engaged. (My guess). Also the clutch plates need to be put together wet. There's an article on fine tuning the clut...

Re: Helical vs straight cut primary gears
Hey Mac--I think your probably right--I'm not as hard on equipment as I was in the past. I don't remember any abusive shifts at the ISDTRR at all and getting back to reality, this totally rebuilt 94A will probably last longer than me!----Just thinkin'!-- ;) (I was in the 70+ class). Thanks for your ...
