Trouble contacting Hodaka-Parts.com

Post by edo1400 »

Hi All
I purchased some parts for my Model 93 Super Rat from Hodaka-Parts.com and they arrived on Tuesday 18 May. It was a long wait as they were sent on the 12 April, but I am in Australia!

My question is has anybody ever received the wrong parts from these guys? I ordered a set of competition EBC front brake shoes 909219R for my 93 Rat, however what I received was bigger in diameter and a narrower shoe? They are no way the correct part. So I contacted Dan Jennings and have had no response, so I have followed this up with a second mail to Terry Larson asking if Dan is out of office. I am still waiting on a response, not sure what sort of response time you guys have experienced but I would like an answer as to why the wrong parts were sent as my bike is a 1970 stock bike period correct and I ordered off their schematics?

I guess if they don't answer I will just have to lodge a Paypal claim to get my money back!!!

Cheers
Edo

Dan Jennings is a past owner and no longer has anything to do with Hodaka Parts so you're barking up the wrong tree there. If you received incorrect parts , for any reason, I can't imagine a set of circumstances where Terry or his crew won't immediately jump into action to make it right. That's just how they roll. You might want to check out the HPI website. If they are out racing, they usually post the date when they will begin to tend to the orders and communications that accumulated while they were out kicking everybody's asse$ with their Hodakas.

Hi Matt

I replied to Dan because of the email I received when I enquired about a tracking number for my order, however it is signed by Terry and Bev?

I guess they may be out of the office and I should give it another week before escalating my complaint.

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

Thank You for your order. Here's the tracking number: USPS Priority International CJ461374753US. Looks like it left the States and is in transit to you---Take care, Terry & Bev

Hi Edo
I have some spare Hodaka shoes new . Flick me a photo and measurements, like wheel drum diameter and brake shoe width . Also post a picture of the one you have snf the one you need . I’m on the lookout for a 14 inch radius 1 inch wide shoe for a husky wheel. We may be able to do a swap . I’m in Sydney

Kev, a 14 inch radius (28 inch diameter) drum would be pretty big for a motorcycle wheel.

I have never got an email response from HPI but Terry will almost always answer the phone or call you back quickly if You call during the listed hours. I have never received a wrong part.

I've never gotten an email back from them, and I called yesterday during operating hours and did not get a response. I've ordered from them before but it seems like they're on an "open when we feel like it" deal.

Simply not the case! They are extremely busy people trying to keep our Hodaka brand alive and well. Call them during their posted hours/days as stated on their website. If no answer, leave a message. We are so so lucking to have Terry and Bev!

I understand, I left a message as well but they have not called back either. I'm lucky that my bike only needs a new coil
