Model 98 ignition

Post by budpat105 »

Is there a service manual that would tell how to trouble shoot model 98 ignition components? I am really wanting to verify if this ignition will work. Can you put this ignition on a model 95 Combat? Are there still any Harry Taylor pipes for sale?

Yes if the motor's wire and the coil match terminals you can bolt it on but make sure you ground it. You can put a spark plug in the spark plug wire , hold it on the frame and turn your motor over by kicking it or rolling it. I'd have somebody there to look closely and see if its sparking. And if you have spark then add fuel and your motor should fire ! I'm no expert and I'm sure the other guys can help you more then I can but I'm telling you what I'd do and what I know.

Best of luck to you ~ Rylan

Yes that ignition will work on a combat wombat and its a great up grade to have an advance curve and no flywheel

I'm going to try this, hope it will fire. I'm thinking the model 98 rotor takes a different puller than the combat? is that correct?
Thanks
