Bruce probably doesn't. But he can refer you to other sources. I went thru the same tapdance a couple of months ago. There may be a old Kawasaki dirt bike that used the same coil. Look at my posts for an "ignition" thread.

What about having coils rewound at an electric motor rebuild shop? Has anybody investigated if that's an economical options?

Just thinking out loud... :geek:

I reverse engineered an Ace lighting coil. It tests out in spec but I have not installed it on anything yet. I rewound it with lacquered wire which is available everywhere and used fiberboard for the end insulators. Less than 10 bucks for the materials. Just a little experiment on a rainy day.

I'll try to get some together, Victor. The effort was more a trial run just to see if it is feasible. Happily, it was.

That's a great thing to know! Some folks have run aground on projects because they couldn't get coils to work! Victor

Rewinding coils could become a cottage industry.

Interesting you mentioned that, Hydraulic. I'm now offering the service. $500 a pop :-). Actually, it takes less than a half hour.
