Hello everyone! I am excited to be here as I have been planning on doing this project since i was 13 years old. My father, after he returned from Vietnam and got out of the service, purchased a 1971 Ace 100B+ (according to the charts, engine numbers and frame numbers). I hope one day to pass it down to my son as well.
Today, while working from home, I completed getting the bike down to the frame and all of the bearing races, bushings, and bearings themselves out. I will be sending all the parts I want sandblasted and powder coated out sometime next month. Until then I am binge learning and finding sites to join as I see this project probably taking a year or 2 since I just had a baby and time is scarce.
I know this motor is 2 stoke and will take a oil gas mix but what's the ratio and what oil do you specifically?
Along the same lines....I see there is a dip stick on the right hand side of the engine block next to the rear brake peddle. What is that for since I thought this lubrication system was gas/oil mix?? OR Is that transmission oil? If so what oil is used specifically?
Other than that I think i am finding some good material and specifications. I look forward to getting addicted to this build.
