Clutch cable questions

Post by Zeek »

So I have two very good looking cables from the Squirt projects.
Both exactly the same length but both have too much free length?

Also it appears there should be a spring on the cases end.
Does this look like it or might that be a brake rod spring?

That is the correct spring for the clutch lever but it looks like you have incorrect cables.

Thought as much.
Strange that both bikes had the wrong cable with them though. Looks like another pile of money to be spent

Ah, yes, but they are available... and for about the same price as a round of golf. A pretty reasonably priced hobby really. :P

Lucky I don't play golf then, and it's getting to the point where i can't drink beer either!
But hey, I've got a bike that's worth half what it cost

Yep, that is how it works! The real fun comes later when you ride that thing.

Appears Strictly Hodaka has the cables in gray or black and they have the spring you need with the assembly.

Why don't you just shorten the cable you already have? With a good soldering iron it's a 5 min. job.
