Fixing wombat cases

Post by DGardner »

The rear mount for the screw was broken off by the chain at some time in it's life so I cut a peace of 1/2 inch 5052 aluminum rod for the mount. I then ground down the case so it was flat so I could weld the peace of rod to the case then tapped it. I don't have a mill so I have to do it the redneck way file, grinder, weld, back to the file and hope it works. I also welded the crank that I rebuilt yesterday with a new rod kit from Paul.

Here is the crank. The rod, crank, and the center of the pin was also isotropic polished.
