Just about there, folks!!! Turn signals working, CHECK! Tail light working, CHECK! Brake light lighting up, just need Spring tension adjustment at front brake switch!

Last thing to check is the horn. Didn’t check to see if it honked before mounting it. I’ll pull the tank and straight wire horn to the battery. If it doesn’t work, I have a couple of spares. One of them should work!

Then it’s off to MVD for the title work & licensing! Yee Haw!!! Damn near done!!! :ugeek: Victor

Turns out the mounted horn didn’t work at all. Thankfully, I had a couple of spares! First one I grabbed honked when I connected to battery so I mounted it up and it honks with the switch!

My nephew is going to freak out when I tell him we can go to MVD!!! :ugeek: Victor

My nephew saw the OEM Green and said “Does it have to be THAT GREEN?” I told him it could be any color he wanted, and he chose Red. In fact, it’s GM Victory Red! I think it matches the UFO Red really well! :ugeek: Victor

OK. I wish to officially announce, this “Red Toad” is DONE! Finished! Ready to to go MVD for titling & licensing! Finuto! Fine!
All electricals now work! Head light, tail light, brake light from both switches, horn & both turn signals, with a keyed switch which turns everything on & off! The only OEM piece I couldn’t make functional was the OEM kill switch but I mounted another right next to it!

A moment of silence to the Toad Newby Geek who struggled through, and with repeated help from numerous folks on this forum, managed to make a spare frame & some miscelanious parts into a complete, functional Red (Road) Toad!!! Amen.

On to finishing the Green Toad!!! :ugeek: Victor

Thank you Max! I appreciate that coming from you!

I guess my Nephew thinks it’s OK. They went to California for a family wedding. I texted him the picture in front of the garage, & his reply was....

“Heck yeah uncle that’s frickin wicked!!!!” (No emphasis added!). Now he is psych’ed to come home & get it!!! I guess it’s OK for someone who busted his butt working on it and is getting his “first motorcycle.” His reaction makes it worth everything I put into it!! Did I forget to say that October 15th was his 18th Birthday?

Thanks Matt. Now with the work done on the Red Toad (except for installing the indicator lights for those missing in the console when they arrive in the mail) I should be able to complete the Green Toad with out much in the way of electrical issues.

Of course, just by saying this I’ve likely “jinxed” myself! But here goes nothing! I’ll muddle on through! Should only take me a day to correct whatever wiring issues I need to change on the Green Toad, put a plug, some premix fuel and build a fuel line for it and try kicking the Green Toad over and starting it.

I also need to repair or replace the front wheel inner tube as my son in law pinched and punctured it when mounting the front tire. And not sure I have all indicator lamp sockets & wires for this one.

I also know I wasn’t able to rewire the green neutral indicator for the Green Toad but I may still revisit that issue now. :ugeek: Victor

Yeah Max. I was documenting it as I was going along. Figured it could help someone else in the future! When you can contribute something, you should, I believe.

I had asked those same questions & didn’t get answers for them. So, trial and error got me there. I figured I’d write it up so that other folks might have the answer in the future. :ugeek: Victor

They work Very well! I bought them on eBay from a supplier. I have them on both Toads & also on the Ace!

They cost me $68 a pair, shipped. I have the old invoice, but it doesn’t list the seller’s name. They were shipped directly from China. :ugeek: Victor

Hey Clarence, I put a pair on the Day One project. They seemed to work, looked cool, cheap. There's even a place that services them if I can find it. Not a big investment. I'm happy so far but I haven't really thrashed them either.

Oh Kay.

Back to testing.

I replaced the voltage regulator. The bike had blown the main fuse, both left turn signals & had to replace them all.

I’m going to try swapping out the light switch assembly to make sure it’s not a failure on the switch causing the headlamp to have stopped working. The brand new lamp is in so it’s no longer an issue of only the high beam working becausecthe filement was damaged on the low beam.

I have talked a bit with Danny on this issue. He gave me a few testing ideas. More to report soon. Temps dropping now so I’m goung back inside. Daylight Savings will make working longer invtge garage possible. At least it exceeded 57*F today! :ugeek: Victor
