Spent 3 hours yesterday successfully dropping the Triple Trees & drilling, tapping & rethreading the lower tree for the fender mount bolts which were broken off inside the tree & put it all back together again. Also just about done with the repaint of the fuel tank! Just need to clear coat it now! Victor

Mounted front fender & front wheel last night. Guess I'm getting older! I couldn't mount the front wheel solo! Had to get my grandson to lift the front end for me to be able to line everything up. Trying to finish the tank paint redo. It got scratched up and there was one section of filler which had some air holes. If I don't get it this time, I'm going to strip the tank & start again! Pics to follow! Victor

I think the UFO front fender looks good!

Also got 2 good, heavy coats of clear on the fuel tank today! Almost done! Victor

Got the second coat of clear coat on today. Tomorrow is wet sand with 2000 grit and buff it out. Then I can apply the graphics I've been saving! I'm sure glad I did the air cleaner graphics just black & no colored background! Victor

Crap!!! Yesterday, my grandsons were putting away tools while I wasn't with them. And wouldn't you know it. The second brand new paint job on the tank! Yup. Someone scratched it! Right on the top edge! Damn!!!

Now I have to sand it and try to blend it. If it doesn't work, it will mean a 3rd repaint.

Uughhhh!!! Victor

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH!!! Is Right Matt! You're not the only one who wants to see it finished. Good thing it's a 3 day weekend! LOL!!! As I tell other people, "I don't work on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, but I'm off on Thursday, Friday & Saturday!!! If only I had some "free time!?!?!" LOL!!! Victor

Bring it on home, Victor. You'll have great stories to tell with your crew around the campfire about the "never-ending project". :-)

OK, Matt. I sanded the chips and put some glazing putty over it. When it dries, I'll sand it smooth, spot primer it & see if I can blend it back in. Fingers crossed!!! Victor

I'm pulling for you, Victor. Slow and steady...

Yeah. Just slow & steady would be nice. Not this paint the gas tank for the third time thing! And it was gloriously shiny already! Wet sanding and buffing would have made it look custom painted! Well, maybe still.... Victor

No. But I at least want to give my nephew a bike which looks like it's been redone, without scratches & nicks, BEFORE I put the tank graphics on. It was my grandsons who damaged this one, just not being careful! Victor

Victor cover the scratches with a sticker. Peel one of those stickers, like on Maxes tool box. STP, Borax, Bardahl everyone send Victor a sticker.

Every Hodie tank of mine looks like it tangled with a mountain lion in a hail storm. Hey, they are working bikes.

Taber. My pride wants the bike to look great when he takes it home. He also wants to ride it to school during the week so I want it to look good for him when he shows it off! I've already put the filler on the tank and will start sandingbit it in just a few minutes. Then a spot shot of primer and then the red for touch up and blending followed by more clear. I may have it done before the end of the day. Victor

Victor just dry humor for the drought year. You are looking good at my age I'm slow and not too steady.----------Clarence

Hey Clarence, it's OK! We all have our ways! I'm a bit (OK a lot) anal retentive, and can't let something like a white chip in a red tank get by me. Maybe I should have gone with a red plastic tank! Oh well. Primer is dry. Time for a little more sanding! Victor

OK Matt, et al. She's all red again an pretty smooth. When it's dried, if I have time tomorrow after my angiogram, I'll shoot it with clear AND HIDE IT UNTIL ITS DRY!!! NO ONE goes in my garage!!! LOL! Wish me luck tomorrow with the angiogram.
My cardiologist said I had an asymptomatic heart attack. So they want to get pictures of my heart veins. Hopefully, there won't be any treatment needed, other than continue to lose weight & maintain control of my blood sugars. Victor

Well, the angiogram went without incident. Was there a little before 9 & was out before 1:30! A little rest this afternoon. Just taking it easy. They made a good sized hole in my right wrist. Dr. Said no throttle twisting for 2 weeks. Victor
