Things are coming together!

. . . and over at the track . . .

Yup, things are coming together!

I'm meeting up with Jay in the morning to set up the trials. If anyone wants to help we will be there around 9-10 am to get it set up, it should only take a couple hours.

So I'm a bit late on posting this. Bob Whitman and Erv Robison during a break in marking the trail for the Bad Rock Trail Ride. This is a traditional stop at the top of Ryan's Grade. Check your copy of the Bad Rock movie if you want to know a bit more about Ryan's Grade.

. . . and now we jump from Thursday's trail marking to Saturday and the Observed Trials. Nate Ewer (Bad Rock Trail Ride organizer) is also a custom trials bike builder. Here's Nate on his hand-built trialer during the Saturday morning Observed Trials.

Houston. We have a problem.

Let me explain. A year or two ago, I had a hand in helping create the "Grandpa Race" at Hodaka Days. Riding in it has been a HOOT - but dagnabit, only slower than me Grandpa's were supposed to enter!! And we certainly would have more fun if more Grandpa's entered. Enneywayeeeee, if you go to YouTube and do a search for GrandPaRace2016 you can watch a video of Moto 1. There would have been four riders, but one Grandpa claims that the kids didn't wake him up from his morning nap in time to get to the start! Um, not to mention that I lost count on the race order and suddenly everything got quiet at the track . . . and people were yelling for Grandpa's - meaning ME - to git the heck to the start line! They held the start till I got there and then the fun began. Hope the video gives you a giggle - and that you will think about participating in the Grandpa Race next year.
Ed
PS: ALL the Grandpa's kept the rubber side down thru both motos!

Ed, I think you should have protested those other two bikes. They looked like they may have been illegal.

Yes, it was a hoot to say the least. A good day at the end of a great week. Thanks to all the volunteers and to all who attended.

Maybe it was some very young Grandpas that was on those bikes that passed you Ed. Maybe there needs to be an age limit or renamed to "Senior".
