A very special day in Hodaka history

Many years ago ( I will not say how many) a baby boy was born this day in Arkansas. This baby boy was born with a motorcycle grip in his hand and a smile on his face. He had yet to bear the full beard that he is now know for but his white beard reminds us this time of year of Santa Claus!!
How fitting this baby boy who now has a full white beard is born so close to Christmas.
His trip from Arkansas to Oregon as a baby set the course where his life would take him.... He was destined for many many great things in life. Loved and admired by most and feared by his competition on the motorcycle course.
He has traveled the world and has even tasted the very rare combination of hamburger with beet root in the deep outback of Australia.
He has also been a huge part of this forum and and also a huge part of the Hodaka motorcycle brand. At PABATCO no one would share an office with him but that did not really matter as he just got it done by himself!! Marv Foster (as I had previously mentioned) gave him his nickname at PABATCO as seen in this photo below. After Hodaka he legally changed his name to "Captain" so not to be confused with his PABATCO name. But to all of us in Hodaka land he is just the best and no matter which handle he goes by we love him.
Happy Happy birthday Captain Eddie!!!!!

Love the picture. Simple, concise, and only one word. It even looks a bit like a wanted poster.
Oh, and happy birthday Ed.

If he was "windbreaker" then, does that make him "old fart" now? Happy birthday and many more to come....

So, after sleeping in pretty late . . . I fired up the computer to check on the happenings in the Hodaka world . . . and you guys have kept me giggling all day long. In between my various naps that is . . .
It seems that Brian "has my number".
Thanks for the chuckles!
Ed

DOH! See how easy it is to confuse an "old fart"! It was thrownchain that nailed it down.
Ed
PS: Is my "legend" status in Australia related to the fact that I can't start a big bore two-stroke without help from a guy who is a good 3, possibly 4 stones lighter than I am?

Ed, I'd forgotten about the big bore starting attempts......"I think it's seized, the kickstart won't go down at all". A legend all the same and not for being the 'Windbreaker' either, as it mentions at the top of this topic. I seem to recall that Paul was a high achiever in that regard in Oz, well not so much windbreaker but as one who broke wind. Same thing I guess.

Kenny it is nice to know you are still breathing. Very little comments from you lately I thought you were either retired or now practicing for Dancing with the Stars seeing your girl Bindy from Australia won this year.
If you enter the polka competition you best head back to the German beer hall in Sydney. Tryouts coming to a beer hall near you.....
We miss you Kenny.
