Limited Edition Hodaka coins

Post by socalhodaka »

The Hodaka commemorative ½ ounce silver coin is available in a limited run of 220 coins produced by Regency Mint. The coin finish will be bright uncirculated and a velour presentation box will be included.

The silver bar used to produce these coins is a gift from the estate of Ed and Mildred Miley, founders of Hodaka.

Come on people, this a one time only deal, won’t be made again, instant collectible, and helps out the GEM theater project. Can’t complain after, only gonna make the ones that are paid for, won’t be any extras. Step up.

I think the link has been closed down. The end of the scheduled sales period has been reached. All but about 20 of the potential coins were sold. Those remaning 20 (or so) will be minted for use at a later date. A grand success for the GEM Theater, the future Hodaka Museum and for the Hodaka fans who ordered coins!

For those of you that missed the notice, the mint is still shut down by Covid, so coin production is pushed back a couple more weeks. Delivery the same. Hopefully mid February is the new timeframe.

Yes, mailings are in progress . . . annnnnnd . . . by virtue of living in the general neighborhood of the Gem Theatre and near the travel path for Rob to complete some errands, my coin was hand delivered a day or so ago. The attached photo is a close up of the current view just over my keyboard. As a result, I get a case of the "warm fuzzies" every time I sit down at my computer! Wishing that you will receive your "warm fuzzies" package soon. :)

Warm fuzzies indeed. I love the engraving. When I think of iconic Hodaka photographs, HT wringing out a SR is the first that comes to mind. Nice Captain.

Yeah, "warm fuzzies" . . . like when you sit back and remember the first race you trophied in . . .

or

. . . that time you stopped for a burger in a small town and picked the diner with lots of cars parked around it - and you had to drive around the block to find a parking space . . . and there it was, only one block off the main drag . . . a toaster tank Rat sitting in the front yard with a "For Sale - $50" sign taped to the bars (and you had fifty bucks!)

You know . . . "warm fuzzies" ;)

Mine may have been in 1969 for $50.00... it ran but didn't shift well. Put an expansion chamber and street tires on it and went flat track racing. My older brother had a Hodaka also and we had some fierce battles for last place (I usually won that dubious honor).
