I just installed (Fabricated) a "Foot Brake Lever Brush Guard" on my Ace 100 Model 92 like I use to put on my Hodakas way back in the 60s.
I use to drill a 1/8 dia. hole thru the "Stiffener Rib" of the Break Lever, about where the Foot Peg Mount area was..
Then I would Lace some Wire, allowing enough movement to Break the Rear Wheel, (I used some Cable Ties this time.)
This would Stop Brush, High Grass, and Twigs from Cloging the Gap between the Frame and Foot Lever, Stopping Full Breaking movement.

Re: "Foot Brake Lever Brush Guard"
We used the cable out of a front brake cable, drilled a hole at the end of the brake and wired it to the frame, actually wrapped the cable around the frame a couple of times tied a square knot and cut the ends off. It kept the brake pedal from bending, like the ones on ebay. I wish the old days would come around again! ----------- Clarence

Yes, Like I said, I use to Drill a small hole in the "Stiffener Rib in the Foot Break Lever" mainly to hold the "Wire Brush Guard's Position".
This time I just wraped a Cable Tie thru a space in the Foot peg mounting plate in the Frame.
I might redo it to the Original one (like you mentioned)later.

There are some excellent products already on the market, to keep the brake pedal protected from bending or breaking off, or just keeping misc. stuff out the harms way on your bike. Go to the web, and look up products. Most the woods or trail riders whom use these sort of things, What I have seen are simple add on Stainless steel cable item,s that does all the things that where listed in the original post.
