It would sure be nice to have a place to buy/sell Hodaka stuff without having to use Facebook.

Facebook is a personal data mining operation. Don't have it. Never will.

This topic has been addressed before. When raised today on Facebook this should be considered the official board response. Thanks for your patience.

Everything Ed said! Thank you Ed. And Gary for posting it here.

For those looking on Facebook, here is the link.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/HodakaF ... 250400193/
To find it, just go to the HodakaFans group page and type "Toad for sale" in the "search this group" box.

Thrownchain, I don't believe that your issue with logging in has anything to do with me asking you to post a link to your For Sale ad rather than posting a For Sale ad here on the Forum. If you still have an issue, then select the Contact us tab at the bottom of the page and send me an email.

I hope my comment about having a place besides Facebook to buy and sell was not taken as wanting to allow that on this forum, it was not.
I am against buying and selling on this forum because I think it will clutter up this great resource for sharing information and advice.

Nothing personal about who posts what. But if you say something isn’t allowed & then someone does it anyway, doesn’t that mean they broke a rule? It can certainly give the appearance of either favoritism or failure to uphold rules.

If something is a rule, then it is supposed to be a rule for everyone and not for some but not all. Otherwise it definitely demonstrates favoritism. Either the Toad MX post needs to be removed or it becomes open season for posting anything for sale. In fact, the post should have been deleted by a moderator and if asked for a link instead of a for sale post, then it should have been removed. But when does a link for a For Sale item become not a For Sale post???

That being said, a simple new folder for For Sale items could be created. Using the example I posted in the For Sale discussion, or something similar, allows for the posting with minimal or no intervention by moderators or other members.

But there is no difference between posting a For Sale for a bike or a For Sale for parts. And No Clarence, there is no bounty hunter. If there’s a rule it should always apply, to everyone. How do you think people would apply if there was a rule which Captain Ed always broke, but others were not allowed the same leeway? Wouldn’t that give the appearance, if nothing more, of favoritism, or failure to moderate rules? And I would think the subject could be discussed without the need to turn to ‘name calling’ ...... We are, after all, mature adults. :ugeek: Victor

Thrown. I’m in favor of this but I was told it’s not allowed. Nothing against you at all. But if they are going to make it a rule then it should be enforced. All the time. :ugeek: Victor

this board used to my primary connection to Hodaka folks, now I use FB, seems to be easier with more folks there, although I know some folks don’t use it. That’s why I posted here.

Victor I am not my brothers keeper. I do not live in the what if world. I do not seek out rules and regulations and demand they be followed by the second. I like the simple and easy street. I want to respect and appreciate the hodaka family and friends. I like guiding principles not rules, rules are for kiddies, and rulers love rules. I think it could be time to leave this subject and reflect on how many motorcycles you have refinished. Call me if you would like. Clarence
