93A rat

Post by budpat105 »

What you suggest for a carb upgrade on a 93A? Not wanting to go reed valve, not a full out racer, just want good running bike without the oring issue and whatever else is wrong with my carb. Maybe the 24mm carb saving is my best choice?

You have one of the best carbs, all carbs with O-Rings and other wear type parts will wear. Get the new parts and give the carb a complete cleaning. Here’s a video I made on that carb.

O-rings are specialized rubber "washers" used to provide a seal between two mating surfaces.

In this particular carburetor the O-ring mentioned provides a seal for the externally removable main jet that resides in the float bowl. If the O-ring is damaged or leaking it creates an unmetered rich condition.

I’m not sure but I think You can take that out and replace it with a main jet. You will no longer have the quick change ability,
