olod road toad cylinder

Post by deward66 »

Just a question about the cylinder. What is the hole in the intake and the case for? I mam using the 100B+ cases.
In the old days putting a reed valve on an Ace 100 there was no mention of putting hole in these locations.

Hello Thrownchain I bought the Van-Tec front end from you. If you have an aluminum red or colored tank 100cc cylinder and look at the bottom you will see the about 1/8th" hole and there is a hole in the engine to match as ell as the gasket. The Ace 100's do not have the hole not the cases either. I am using the Ace 100 bottom end and the later model Road Toad cylinder on them.

Thrownchain, were you the one who got that Van Tech Earles fork on Ebay a few days ago? That was a wild ride.

No I bought mine several month ago.
Do you know why the hole is in the Road Toad aluminum intake port?

As to the fork question, no I didn't buy the forks off Ebay, I was in the bidding but quit at $300. The forks I sold were acquired at the PVR swapmeet a couple of years ago. As to the hole in the cylinder, does the matching hole in the case go anywhere? Or is it a blind hole that goes no where? If it is a blind hole, then just ignore it, it may have been put in as precursor to some other use. Maybe oil injection.

It's a blind hole. We covered this in some depth no pun, A few months ago. I think Hydraulic Jack thought stress release.--------Clarence

I know this a little late. A Road Toad cylinder will not fit Ace 100 cases, the stud spacing is not the same.
