I would second Clarence's suggestions. Along the same lines, you might tighten with the appropriate Hodaka puller and leave it for a few hours. Then make sure it is still tight and give it a rap with a hammer. If nothing, tighten and let sit for a few more hours, continue as above until it comes loo...

What do you mean by Main Nozzle? Are you referring to the brass projection that is the top of the needle jet and sticks up through the bottom of the venture? The open side of the grooves does go toward the crank bearing (away from the clutch) and the thrust washer it fits up to should also have oil grooves machined into it. They face toward the bushing.

Has anyone else received the newest issue of VMX Magazine (issue 58)? I have a subscription and I see that the new issue is out, but I haven't received it yet. Just trying to verify it did go out so I can contact the local post office (again) as they seem to lose a lot of mail.

Usually, if you look closely, you can see faint marks where the inside rest against the main shaft and bearing and the outside will show marks where the washer rested against it.

On that model I usually give it around 40-50 lb.ft. It is a nylock nut so it shouldn't come loose. Also, you want it tight enough to take up any play in the swingarm bushings without crushing them. As noted above, I have never found an "Official" spec. I use the above amount (40-50 lb.ft.)...

On my 1973 model 94 Wombat, the pipe has a large nut on the front, where it screws onto threads on the iron cylinder. Not sure about the later Wombats, but the early one was a screw on style, like the Ace 100's

Rear shocks are not stock. From the pictures, they look to be Boge - Mulhulland (which, if they are, are re-buildable).
