Re: Rupp / Hodaka powered
I had a Rupp Roadster back in the day. 1969 model I believe. It had 5 hp Tecumseh with a 2 speed trans I think. Always wanted a Black Widow. I don't know about putting the Ace motor in that frame but most anything is possible with a grinder and welding machine. I would be tempted to keep the Rupp or...

That brings back memories. I've ridden from Ouray to Imogene Pass and on to Telluride and back. Great sights.

I hope you get your motor issues resolved so you can still make this trip. Do you plan to document your trip online? I am looking forward to reading about your adventure and how the Hodaka performs. Good luck and ride safe.

6 1/4" from the weld to the end of tube. The OD of the tube is 1.64" and the ID is 1.54". The spark arrestor that slips in to the tube is 1 1/2" OD. 16 GA 1 5/8" exhaust tubing would be a good replacement.

Re: clutch issues
The model 92 does not have primary kick. It needs to be in neutral to kick start it. Also, it is 250 inch pounds on the clutch nut. That is about 21 foot pounds.

"Do you have an Sl or an Ed transmission ? Also wonder which would be better : a heavy flywheel or a light one with the ratio gaps"
I have the ED trans with a PVL ignition and no flywheel. Good luck with your project.

Re: 250 for motocross
I have ridden my 250 in ahrma cross country events using 14/48 gearing. The biggest issue I have noticed is the wide gap between 2nd and 3rd gear. You lose your momentum when you shift from 2nd to 3rd and unfortunately, you use those 2 gears a lot. I never tried different gearing because it seemed o...

You're welcome to use the pic of #182 in the first post. I did not take the picture and I don't remember who did. (I don't even remember sending it to you!) That picture was taken several years ago at the White Lightning CC.

Bob Sorry to hear that. Get well soon. I had plans to go to White Lightning but my lower back issues flared up a couple of days before the event. I've been doing my PT and walking on the treadmill to get back in shape. I'm still planning to ride the Perry Mtn 2-day. I think I'll be ready....... Mike

Re: 12v Headlight
Here is what I did to make a 5 3/4" headlight work in the stock housing. I bought a 5 3/4" "tractor light" from NAPA auto parts for $13.00 (#4419). It is 12v 35watt, also know as a "PAR 46" type bulb. I carefully trimmed the brackets out of the headlight ring with a dre...

Why We Ride
I went to see "Why We Ride" at the theater today. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Its a documentary about the love of motorcycle riding with friends and family. It was about 90 minutes long with some great photography. I would have liked to see more off road stuff but it was still really g...
