Clarence Are you measuring the top of the cylinder from front to rear at the widest point? If so, your measurements make sense. I have a 250 SL and the top of the cylinder from, front to back measures at about 7 1/4 ". If you measure the bore and find it to be 2.76 ", then you have a cylin...

I got it out using a "snap on" small slide hammer puller. Three pulls on the hammer and it was out without heating the case.

I've had good results using a hydraulic press. Just be careful and go slow to avoid flat spots. Check often with a straight edge and or spinning the tubes on a flat surface. You should be able to get the tubes fairly straight again if they are't bent too badly to begin with.

FYI. The OD of the squish band is 56mm so that should confirm it as being a 95 CW head. Would that head make too much compression for a stock 03 engine?

I also have a head that is marked 9_2501 ( 50mm squish band) that I wasn't quite sure if it was from a 98. Now I know.
