Greetings
I think that you might get a kick out seeing the collection of historic dirt bikes that Jim Hoellerich has put together.
No Hodaka's that I could see, but there are many fine examples of European brands that most of you will remember.

Darrell I've had the same issue with my SL several times and have been able to get the clutch cover off without taking the lever off of the knuckle. With the foot peg removed, you can rotate the lever back and down far enough to insert a screwdriver into the foot peg hole to hold the lever in that p...

You're never too old
Greetings
I'd like to share photographic proof that you are never too old to enjoy a motorcycle ride with the kids. Although, helmet use would be a good idea for everyone especially granny!

Ed Thanks for the reply. The wedges --- don't know what else to call them--- are right beneath the iron cylinder liner. They aren't very long. Maybe 1/4" . The ring boss is, in fact, not fractured. It just appears that way from the angle and shadows in my first photo. Here are some better shots...

Case splitting. NO NO !!
Greetings Here is a good example of the result of inappropriate case splitting technique used by a "DPO". There is a much better way as described in the technical tips section titled " Break the case wide open" than using a flat blade screwdriver. I think that the cases can be us...

The tank, front end, rear brake pedal placed on the left side, lack of down tubes ( as far as I can see in the photos ) looks very similar to the 1968 Harley D 125 Rapido.

Couldn't jakethesnake get his second 98 running with a stator and point system from a model 99?
I think that those parts would be be easier to find and less pricey.

Greetings I had a 1968 HD Rapido 125 that had those finger ports which made a noticeable gain in performance. That mod along with an expansion chamber and milled head made it the fastest 125 at our local TT/Scrambles track for a short period of time. I also had an ace 100 at the same time that had t...

Thanks for the info. It looks like an easy job and using the ring sounds like a good idea as I don't have a telescoping micrometer. Of course, this gives me a good reason to buy another tool. One never has enough tools, do we?

I measured a RT cylinder, the exhaust height is indeed 30mm from the gasket surface as you had mentioned earlier.
Quick question. How much material should be removed from the exhaust bridge and do you take more from the middle to give it a slight arc?
Thanks
Tom

Can anyone recommend a good after market replacement for the stock Hodaka turn signals? I'm looking for signals that are smaller and will last for a good while without falling apart.

Radical engines have been successfully grafted in motorcycle frames before. This is one from Jesse James. It's not a two stroke, but still interesting.

100 B forks

Can anyone tell me if 100B forks would work on a 93A?
I know that the internals are different, but I am unsure if they are the same length and if they use the same axle.
Thanks

Just thought I should share another photo of that 03 engine. I don't know what "Kluge" means, but maybe it applies to this terminal condition.
Also - Maxie - I am thinking of driving my 71 VW bus to HD 16. It would fit right in with the vintage bikes.

Since the forum has been quiet for a bit, I thought it might be interesting to share what I found when tearing into a model 03 engine.

p.s. I don't think it worked as the stopper was missing.

Greetings Allow me to clarify some of the previous comments about the forks. The 34mm forks in the photos are from a either a model 03 125 Wombat or from a Hodaka 250. This a good thing as they have more travel than the 30mm units that came stock on this frame. The forks being longer than stock and ...

Greetings There should be a master link in the chain. It's the one that has an extra piece on the side. Just remove the clip and the link should slide out making it easy to remove the chain. I usually use a flat bladed screwdriver to push/tap on the open end of the clip to pop it off. It's also a go...

Did you put a rag in the intake or exhaust to keep the internals clean during your build?
Did you remember to remove same rag? It's not uncommon to forget this detail. At least once.

I have a 100/100 Pirelli " Scorpion MX " on a 03 Wombat that clears the chain guard by 1/4 inch. It's a bit wider than I wanted, but it fits and works fine. It should be a good size for your 175 if you are looking for a knobbie.
Hope that helps
