Just a random thought or two-----Maybe someone ground the logo off to repair road rash, or to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics on their high speed racer
I couldn't resist taking a shot in the dark and adding my two cents worth.

Re: Tom's Road Toad Shocks
Max These are NOS Red Wing "Hammer Head" shocks that I found on e-bay. They are 340mm (13/38") eye center to center. The aluminum body on the left side just barely clears the chain, and the body on the right had to be ground a bit to clear the swing arm gusset. They work much better t...

Thanks for the generous offer. It is very much appreciated, but I have one of those.
The clip I'm having problems with, is the tiny cir-clip on the brass plunger itself.
Here is a photo. I think about half of the clip is missing.

20mm carb
Greetings
Does anyone know how to repair a bad clip on the choke plunger on a 20mm carb? The section that contacts the grooves has a broken end and will not hold the choke up.
Thanks

03 engine case
Greetings all A few months ago, I purchased a 03 Wombat bottom end on E-BAY. The seller stated that the crank was frozen and I could see a bit of rust on the flywheel in his photos. Not a problem. I can re-build the crank. I usually do that anyway. When I split the cases, I found that the crank was a...

Re: Kickstand woes!
I'm working on an 03 as well, and the kick stand bracket had been completely broken off and re-welded by the previous owner. I will be welding a bead to the top and bottom to add some strength and then finish it with some careful grinding. So repair it like bchappy suggests, and you should be good t...

Re: HT3 stinger
Mike I live in NW AZ (Mohave Desert ) that has lots of loose sharp edged rocks and hard square edged ruts. No mud or loam here! The tree limbs and brush are pretty stout and don't have much " give", so there are plenty of obstacles that are good at deflecting the front end. I had to modify...

Here are some before and after shots.
This was a fairly easy job, and it got the pipe/silencer in a better position for this model.

HT3 stinger
Greetings all I would like to know if there is any need to clamp either end of the stinger pipe on the HT3 exhaust. The stinger rotates about 1/32" in the rear of the chamber if I push/pull the end of the "TIT".( not trying to be funny here ). FYI-I have this pipe, which is not design...

Just curious, are you offering one for sale, thinking of trying to find this model or already have found one?
A 175 SL in decent condition would be a great find and highly desirable.

KYB shocks
Greetings Can anyone tell me where I might find seals and valves for the KYB aluminum bodied shocks? The valves are badly worn( oval ) and deformed from bottoming out. One is also missing a metal sealing ring that the other valve has. The bodies, springs and shafts are in good condition and can be m...

The front takes two, part # 929274 oil seals. Same as one of the rear seals.

I think that Terry meant to say that the axle itself is unscrewed from the fork leg by turning it counterclockwise.

Re: 250ED shocks
Greetings all I forgot to mention that I am planning to use the shocks on my 03 project. I have a set of 03 shocks(left) that still have some gas pressure- one a bit more than the other with no apparent oil leaks- a set of 250ED shocks (center) and a single shock right) that has a different spring (...

250ED shocks
Greetings all
Can any one tell me if the 250ED shocks can be rebuilt, and if they can be, where I might source new seals? Would these shocks perform any better than stock 03 or 250SL units?
Thanks

Re: I need help identifying
Clarence Are you measuring the top of the cylinder from front to rear at the widest point? If so, your measurements make sense. I have a 250 SL and the top of the cylinder from, front to back measures at about 7 1/4 ". If you measure the bore and find it to be 2.76 ", then you have a cylin...

FYI
I got it out using a "snap on" small slide hammer puller. Three pulls on the hammer and it was out without heating the case.

Roller bearing
Greetings all What would be the best method to remove the main shaft roller bearing in an 03 engine. I've used the hydraulic and tap methods for the bushings in other engines ( tap works better for me) but I have never removed a roller bearing in this location, and I don't want to damage the case. T...

Re: Cylinder head
I now have three heads to experiment with whenever I get my 03 engine put together. A 95 head marked with the # 952501, a 97 head with the # 9_2501 and what I assume is an 03 head marked with the # 9_2501. The 97 has a bit less dome area than the 95 but look similar, and the 03 head has quite a lot ...

I've had good results using a hydraulic press. Just be careful and go slow to avoid flat spots. Check often with a straight edge and or spinning the tubes on a flat surface. You should be able to get the tubes fairly straight again if they are't bent too badly to begin with.
Good luck

Re: Cylinder head
FYI. The OD of the squish band is 56mm so that should confirm it as being a 95 CW head. Would that head make too much compression for a stock 03 engine?
I also have a head that is marked 9_2501 ( 50mm squish band) that I wasn't quite sure if it was from a 98. Now I know.
Thanks for the input
