Re: Newbie from Tasmania

Hi Zeek Looks like youve got some fun ahead of you. Fortunately Hodakas are simple (even I can rebuild one). My wombat didnt look much better than what you have got there and I only had one to work with. It regularly tears around the bush in NSW these days. Good luck you will find answers to your qu...

Re: Need help with tires

you can get a 3.5 x 18 Kenda here in Australia which works well as a rear knobby on my Wombat. I reckon they should be available anywhere you can buy Kendas

Re: What frame to use?

thanks Ed Have seen posts by people suggesting to drill holes in outer cover (but figure that will also increase the flow of mud and dirt on to aircleaner) and have already cut down rubber funnel as per factory recommendation.I am wanting to work with the original airbox rather than building a new o...

Re: What frame to use?

Thanks Ed I am occasionally daydreaming (and collecting parts) for an "improved" 125 enduro with the chrome tank squirt frame with 18/21inch wheels 34mm forks and extended swing arm - (The standard wombat swing arm makes for fun riding but its twitchy) reeded CW top end, wombat bottom end ...

Re: Early model Control Shaft Snap Ring Tool

I made the fortunate discovery last night when cleaning and inspecting the bike that my wombats poor shifting towards the end of my last ride last weekend (first indicated by the shift cover starting to fall off!)had amazingly not resulte...

Re: Classic dirt 12

Thanks Hilly for reminding me of my saying I would "double the number of Hodies at Classic Dirt" ! I aim to prove I am not full of s...! but looks like I am shooting for next year now. My Super combat is still in pieces but inching closer. Work commitments have been pretty heavy for me lat...

Ed
Sure do remember Foghorn Leghorn . We were raised on a solid diet of bugs Bunny cartoons here in Sydney in the 60's . Think I liked the Road Runner and Coyote the best.

Re: The world is a small place

All this talk of Wombats being thoroughly thrashed and caned , roosters raising roost.
Sounds like what I imagine a meeting in the Hodaka marketing department in 1973 must have sounded like.
Did Super Rooster never make the short list?

Re: The world is a small place

Hi Hilly Have met Ken -he lives near me in Sydney, i believe your fine looking SC was the sole Hodaka at Cannondale last year. I hope to double or triple that number there soon (Wombat I am riding now and Super Combat in progress) . Look foward to one day meeting the other "roosters" in th...

Re: Inner Fork Tube Restoration

Thankyou everyone for their reply Bill, they are definitely 30mm forks as they are the same as my wombat and Ace. I have considered putting bigger ones on but the 34mm forks are very rare here in Australia . cr 125 Honda forks would be an option as they are fairly plentiful and i see a Super Combat ...

Re: Inner Fork Tube Restoration

Hi this is my first post here. I have previously got around the pitted inner tube problem by buying complete sets with decent chrome but they are getting hard to find. I have recently stripped the forks off my Super Combat project that are pitted but (i think ) re chromable and have been investigati...
