Re: jets, Need an Answer please

The needle does not come close to the main jet. I went to put the smaller jet in and noticed that it only goes in so far. The distance it sticks out of the holder is exactly the same as the long 140 jet. Guys will see what happens. Just reset the points with the new condenser and points, kicked it o...

Re: jets, Need an Answer please

Thanks Guys. I'am going to try the short jet #135 and see how it runs and let you know. Like you said the jet is not that smaller than the long jet. I think they used them for room reasons on some carbs.

Re: jets, Need an Answer please

The jets are Mikuni its that the head is shorter. Both say 135, Is it because they made them shorter for room reasons?
Would like to know the difference. any body have the answer?

Re: Broken off key

What I did was take 2 very small screwdrivers and ground them down to a very fine point and slowly worked it out one side at a time. I also disconnected
the switch and sprayed it with WD40 and slowly hit the top till it moved out and then grabbed it

jets, Need an Answer please

A friend gave a box of jets for Mikuni Carbs. Main jets from 130 to 180. Some are short head jets and some are long head jets. What is the difference in the jets? Will they work the same?
Thanks

Re: Main Jet setting at 4000 ft Please Help

ED One more question for you. I have another 125 94A engine I need to send to get it overhauled. I already redid the cylinder 30 over new piston, rings and redid the clutch and stator. So I only need to send in the main body without the cylinder and clutch and stator. Who would you recommend that co...

Re: Main Jet setting at 4000 ft Please Help

ED Thats what it looks like, like grade school wood burner. Won't use that. I have an old Weller iron that puts out 100/140 watts. This one should work well. It was my fathers, he used it when he built model airplanes back in the day. Olde but golde. I will test it using your advice. Got my condense...

Re: Main Jet setting at 4000 ft Please Help

Bullfrog your right. I have one of the older looking soldering gun that looks like a screw dryier. I'll use that. Should have my new condenser tomorrow.
Let you know how things go. Thanks everyone for your advice. Just keep on learning.

Re: Main Jet setting at 4000 ft Please Help

Thanks, At first since it was a new honed 40 with new pistons and rings, I made the gas fuel mixture at about 30 to one. And the plugs looked oiled fouled, then I drained the tank and put in 20 to one. Now they look fuel fouled. I will try other things Condenser, points, float, jetting. I would pull...
