One thing to check is to clean the points. Fine sand paper works well. The NOS points have a coating on them which prevents the points from corroding while sitting on the shelf. The 1971 Model 92B would be covered in the red multi Ace manual. The parts which didn’t change are in the Ace 90 section. The parts which ARE different for the Model B are covered in that separate section.

That you measure an existing piston, rings & cylinder and they all measure within specs, but you put a compression tester on and you only get 85 psi???? Victor

Clarence. We put a brand new OEM gas cap on this bike. No reason it should have failed. Go figure. But we have had the hottest 20 days on record here for July. Guess it was bound to happen! Just a 45 year old plastic tank. Victor
