Found this on eBay. It’s not mine, I’m just sharing because these don’t come up very often. :ugeek: Victor https://www.ebay.com/itm/276226755826?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l1120&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=c9f4df035ca5477db54cd964561cc4bd&bu=43187366451&ut=RU&osub=-1...

Re: Color

Well Dale, the Nigerian 200 were a special order. As discussed in another thread, they were the exception. Custom ordered and then canceled, they were the only Model 92’s which weren’t red. Like Ed said (paraphrased) in the other post, “everything I know about the Nigerian bikes is what is in the Ho...

Re: Color

Probably not a Nigerian Police Bike! But someone may have painted it black by choice. Not unusual. Changing things to make it your own, includes paint! Bet there’s red underneath that black! The Model 92’s all were red, with 17” wheels front & rear and 27mm front forks like on the Ace 90, not or...

The wire provides a connection to the lamp. The screws provide a ground to the case. Then a blue wire provides a ground for the lamp at the bulb socket. :ugeek: Victor

Re: New to the game!!

You can get everything you need from Terry Larson at Hodaka-Parts.com Bottom end rebuild kits, top end kits with piston, rings and gaskets, and you can send them your cylinder for boring as well. It’s also recommended that you replace the kick shaft bearing retainer with the newer HD version. If you...

Re: Ignition

Albert. When I was younger, I had a Kawasaki F6 125. I was out riding one day and in a mid-air jump, the condenser died in me. I hit the ground & rolled to a stop with my clutch lever pulled in. I was about 2 miles from home and had to push the bike back to the house. Replaced the condenser &...

Re: Race modifications?

Crash, be careful with those rear shocks. If they are RFY it turns out the reservoirs are fake! You’re probably better off if you find a set of the 97/98 KYB Shocks, or even a set of the repros from Terry Larson at Hodaka-Parts.com.

Re: Hodaka Q&A

Clarence, the only thing I remember about square motors were the Maico Square blocks and there was a Yamaha YZ 400 square block. Those motors had basically square or cube shaped cylinders, possibly to keep the fins from sticking out too far from the frame. That’s the extent of what I can recall abou...

Re: You don't see these often

I remember researching these when Alan Donovan bought one. They came powered with a 125 EH Wombat replacement motor. As I recall something like 200 of them were ordered by a Western Canadian Power company with the idea that they could run them up & down power line Right Of Ways easier & serv...

Re: Hodaka Q&A

Clarence, as stated the pictures were for pipe reference only. The Ace 100 B in picture C has a B+ front fender & headlight at my choosing. I did not have access to a low mount fender assembly. I did have the original “92Bee”style head light bucket (pun intended), but I did not have the correct ...

Re: Hodaka Q&A

Well, now. I’m filing this under mass confusion! It seems there were different changes at different times. There was the 90, with this pipe (A), Then the 92 with this chrome pipe, (B), Then a 92 with this pipe(C), And a 92B(+?) with this pipe (D). (Photos for pipe reference only) Hard to tell which ...

Re: Ignition

Condensers tend to work until they don’t. However, they can get old and then start failing intermittently as the engine heats up.

Make sure when you solder the wires to the condenser that you do not get solder spilling over to the outer cover of the condenser. :ugeek: Victor

Re: Publishing Confusion

Yep. I messaged Terry and asked if it was just a mistake? Expressed concern about some folks accidentally ordering the incorrect parts. Discussions on the past with Bruce leads me to believe that not as many people use the library as you would think. He keeps telling me to say/show where the info I ...

Re: Publishing Confusion

OK. I thought there was a publication error. Not sure who brought in the 95? I thought the 96 Dirt Squirt had a Wombat bottom end not a Combat Wombat??? Clarification on that??? I’ll talk to Terry about the 96 Squirt library sheet. :ugeek: Victor

Re: Publishing Confusion

I just checked the part numbers and they all look the same except the Ace has 92 as the first 2 digits while the Wombat & Squirt have 94 as the first 2 digits. One could almost assume they are the same except for the prefix on the part number. But we know the Ace & Wombat are different. :uge...

Publishing Confusion

Hi there folks. Just looking for confirmation. We were comparing main shafts because Alan asked me if the Ace & Wombat used the same main shaft. So I looked it up in Terry’s library. Ace & Wombat use different main shafts, which makes sense because the gearing is different. Then I thought ab...

Re: Opinions on fuel tank coating?

I use Muriatic Acid for tanks which are dirty/rusty inside. But it’s not an easy treatment to do. You must stay with the tank, agitate frequently and keep inspecting for completion. You also need to know if the tank has rust pitting which goes all the way through. If it does, you’ll get pinhole leak...
