Re: Opinions on fuel tank coating?
I use Muriatic Acid for tanks which are dirty/rusty inside. But it’s not an easy treatment to do. You must stay with the tank, agitate frequently and keep inspecting for completion. You also need to know if the tank has rust pitting which goes all the way through. If it does, you’ll get pinhole leak...

Re: Another Dirt Squirt resurrection
John. Here’s a great paint to use if you’re going to repaint the red on the Squirt! It second coats well, has a quick drying time & doesn’t require a base coat of primer. It’s the Rustoleum 2X Paint & Primer in one in Gloss Apple Red. It’s inexpensive and 2 cans will do 2 coats on all the re...

Re: ignition rebuild service?
Tin, that is coat with solder, all the ends of the wires connecting to the condenser. There are 2 metal tabs on the top of the condenser. The longer one folds over and acts to retain the wires so they don’t get pulled. The shorter one folds over the tips of the wires and is joined to the wires with ...

Re: ignition rebuild service?
One thing to check is to clean the points. Fine sand paper works well. The NOS points have a coating on them which prevents the points from corroding while sitting on the shelf. I’ve done this a few times. Put NOS points on the stator and forgot to clean them before trying to start. I’d kick & k...

Re: 1971 Ace 100B wiring
Here’s a copy of the Model 92 wiring diagram. Not sure if there is a 92B diagram but I’ll check my hard copy manuals. One of the things I usually do is change the glass tube fuse/holder to a mini blade fuse/holder. Much easier to carry fuses and they don’t shatter. It’s also a good idea to add a vol...

Re: 1971 100B
Sorry. The extra manual I have stops at the Model 92. So it isn’t new enough to include the B model. I tried… I do have a complete Ace 90 thru the 100-MX. This one includes the Model 92B. I could make you copies of the 92 B supplement. But you would still need the Ace 90 section and possibly the one...

Re: 1971 100B
The 1971 Model 92B would be covered in the red multi Ace manual. The parts which didn’t change are in the Ace 90 section. The parts which ARE different for the Model B are covered in that separate section.
I may have a manual for you. Let me look through my box of manuals. Victor

Re: Why is it…..
Thanks folks for your answers. The following replies are offered… Ed. Yes correct piston & head combination. It’s an Ace 100 with an Ace head and an Art piston with NPR rings. Testing was done with numerous kicks with throttle wide open. Multiple tries never went above 85-90 psi. So I’ll be pull...

That you measure an existing piston, rings & cylinder and they all measure within specs, but you put a compression tester on and you only get 85 psi???? Victor

Clarence. We put a brand new OEM gas cap on this bike. No reason it should have failed. Go figure. But we have had the hottest 20 days on record here for July. Guess it was bound to happen! Just a 45 year old plastic tank. Victor

Used, Functional 250ED Tank???
Does anyone have a tank, which is useable, that they can sell? No petcocks or cap needed. Just a tank. This one popped in the heat of the garage. Thx! Victor
