The one in the photo isn’t mine but just one I found on the web. I wish mine was that clean and original !

Ace 100 exhaust

My Ace 100 has the first (I think) style exhaust like the one in the photo. Is the later flame thrower style a worthy enough upgrade to search and spend for one or was the power about the same ?

Re: Holy swing arm BatMan!

Those are good ideas. Get it to turn and it will come out. I wonder if an air hammer/chisel would shock it enough to get it moving after the heat/cooling and soaking was done.

Re: Holy swing arm BatMan!

+1 to what Matt said. Patience is key along with multiple heat and cool down cycles.

Re: Ace 100 cross country bike

Thanks for the input guys ! It does have a 19” front and 18” rear. The front is a 2.75 Shinko trials and the rear is a 3.00 Shinko “ Golden Boy” which is a trials universal. They seem to work pretty good at a somewhat fast trail pace, but I would have more confidence at race pace with a knob on the ...

Re: Ace 100 cross country bike

I had a little more time this morning to search the forum and pretty much found all the answers to my questions. I will probably keep the “dirt bike” wiring with the battery, lighting and ignition switch deleted. I read Matt’s discussion about the 21 inch front wheel on his DS and taking into consid...

Ace 100 cross country bike

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I have still been lurking here and there :) I’m thinking about converting my Ace 100 trials bike back to trail bike mode for the upcoming ISDT RR in Combs Arkansas this summer and I have a few questions on set up. 1) Is it better to use a 21 inch front wheel ...

Re: Big (but not happy) news for All Hodaka fans

Best wishes to everyone through this. Kudos to the Captain and everyone involved for having to make the tough call on HD. I do like the ideas from givergas and thrownchain...I’m in. I was just working on the Ace yesterday cleaning brake drums and making a new spiffy front number plate. Keep calm and...

Re: Frozen Motor

MTrat has a good point about Cola maybe hurting the cylinder. I think, like Clarence said, it just needs to soak and then patient persuasion with hammer and wood. I also like the muffler gun idea.

Re: Maximum B+ Project!

Spent the last month or so bringing this back to life. It’s been under a tarp behind the shed for the last fourteen years so I pretty much had to go through the whole thing.

Re: Frozen Motor

Victor, you’re gonna laugh, but Coke a Cola will free it up better than any of the solvents you listed. I’ve had two different set of forks that were stuck and tried all the different oils and solvents you listed letting them sit for days and they did not budge. Filled them up with Coke and they cam...

A dream job for sure ! Very cool story Captain and thanks for sharing the details.
I definitely meant no disrespect with my comment. It came to mind only because I had a few of those “watch this” moments before I wised up :D .
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year !

Re: Maximum B+ Project!

The B+ is my favorite Hodaka. I turned my B into a mild trials bike and it is fun but... it’s a real hoot just cow trailing through the woods so I’m going to put it back to mostly original. The title with yours makes it really cool !
