Re: Project Dirt Squirt

Speedometer bracket does go on top of the handlebar clamps. If you put them under the clamps they would not tighten up the handlebars. The head bolt is an 8 mm x 1.25 thread not a 7 millimeter. Looking good!

Re: To all folks in the Hodaka Nation

I think you have your answer Victor from my Facebook posting, but for those who might be interested the Hodaka Club website does send out reminder notices. It just wasn't time for Victor to get one yet.

Re: Dirt Squirt (96) compatibility

According to the Parts Compatibility Spreadsheet Seat #949022 fits models 92C/96, 94, 94A and 95. Seat #979022 fits models 01, 02, 03, 97, 98 and 99.
The later model #979022 has longer rear brackets and a higher curve at the back of the seat to allow the rear fender to rise higher under the seat.

Re: Resonator index

Send it to me Kelly,,,I think you have my email address. It will have to be put on a site that can be downloaded with a link. With your permission we can put it on the club site where everyone can see it, but only members can see the Resonators. We will need to edit it occasionally to add new items ...

Re: What am I doing wrong?

My first guess would be to check the air filter. Is it in place properly or maybe not oiled and just put in dry. It appears that dirty air is doing all this damage. The clean areas on top of the piston just looks like sand blasting coming from the transfer ports.

Re: What is this?

It is not stainless. The handles and movable bottom part of the clamp seems to be cast aluminum and the arm and top part of the clamp is plain steel. The black part showing on the bottom clamp is a hard rubber. Construction is not heavy enough for automotive work and by not being stainless I don't t...

Found at an estate sale and got it free as no one knew what it was. It is about 10 inches long.

Re: Combat Wombat carb

Randy, look at the Combat Wombat schematic of the carb and be sure have the right carb. Notice the main jet enters from the side and all other Hodaka carbs enter from the bottom. You can make them work but the Combat Wombat 28 mm is different. Bullfrog (Ed) probably has identified your problem no ma...

Re: Shear agony: countershaft

Welding the sprocket to the counter shaft may leave you with one problem. Usually if the sprocket nut is not tight oil will come out between the sprocket and the collar behind it. If you weld the sprocket to the shaft there is no way to tighten it against the collar so therefore an oil leak that may...

Re: Wombat wheel interchange?

I had the Combat Wombat frame stripped down to powder coat, so I welded an identical (to the 03) steering limiter on the front of the frame before the powder coating.

Re: Wombat wheel interchange?

I have the 03 front end on this Combat Wombat and all I did to fit the chrome fender was drill holes in the fender plate to fit the holes in the 03 triple tree.

Re: Is there a topic posting time limit?

Could be the site itself is doing it. I know most bank sites cut you off if there is no activity for awhile. Maybe Strictly Hodaka can answer that. Seems like if someone is typing that should show activity. Dale has the best answer. When I have typed over a few lines I do that just in case it gets l...

Re: Brake pedal refurb

Happened to me about 1970. I had attached the cable as mentioned for a 2 hour cross country that went down a sandy creek for about 100 yards. About the third lap around the course I came up out of the creek and was going down a logging road about 45 mph into a sawmill site. The trail turned sharp ba...

Re: Bumper bike carriers

Never got that hooked on VWs but I had a few (1956, 1964, 1972, 1973, and 2000.) The 1956 had flag turn signal on the side that had been covered over with bondo but you could see the outline. I was 27 in 1969. I worked for USDA Farmers Home Administration in Statesville NC and had a shop at my house...
