Re: My Ace 125 R
I bought a new battery, got the lights working and went for a ride. The engine is running great. The Bassani pipe really woke it up.The Wombat wheels have much better brakes than the Ace wheels. This bike will stop! I still need to work on the gearing. It's geared to high. I can get about 58 mph in fo...

Re: My Ace 125R
UPDATE: The engine was running rich before I added the modified Bassani pipe. With the new pipe, it was running a bit lean. I raised the needle one notch and that fixed it. I think I have the jetting dialed in. It starts easy and runs smooth through the RPM range. I had to quit riding because I lost...

Re: My Ace 125R
Matt- I would love to wax eloquently about exaust gas expansion theories, but the fact of the matter is it was trial and error. The top end was fixed (the exhaust port). The bottom end was also fixed, sort of. I had to clear the swing arm and also the kick starter. A lot of masking tape was used to ...

Re: My Ace 125R
The first 3" +/- is the original pipe. the next 3" +/- is exhaust tubing. The rest of the pipe is the Bassani that I cut into wedges so I could bend it up. Welding the oil soaked metal was a sum bitch. Clean, clean, clean before welding!

Re: My Ace 125R
I had a glass pack muffler in my parts stash that i welded on. It's not much loader than the stock pipe.

My Ace 125 R
I have four Hodakas - three are dirt bikes. The Ace 100B is my road bike. It hasn't seen dirt in five years, so I decided to remake it into a road bike - street bars, street tires, low pipe, etc. I bought a P.O.S. 94 Wombat for the engine and wheels. The Wombat had better brakes than the Ace. I cut ...

Re: 32mm Ceriani Front End
I put 32mm Penton Ceriani forks on my Ace 100B. It was a direct bolt on. I had to make new stops to keep the forks from hitting the tank. The Penton trees are wider than the Hodakas so you need the Penton axle. I'm sure the CW would be similar.

Re: Ceriani 32mm forks on CW?
I have Penton 32mm Ceriani forks on my Ace 100B+. The bike has been highly modified. It's more 98 Super Rat than Ace 100.I got a good deal on Flea Bay. They came with triple trees, but no axle. It was a direct bolt on . The only thing I had to make was stops to keep the forks from hitting the tank. T...

Re: I need a kit to make cables
I checked out Barnett and couldn't find anything for the hobby guy.I went on Amazon and found two kits by Venhill. One for throttle cables(VKW003) for about $45 and another for clutch/brake cables (VWK002) four about $60. The kit has 15 ft of cable and casing and a variety of fittings. I'm going to ...

Can you identify this pipe?
I am redoing my Ace 100B into a road bike. I found this pipe in my parts stash. The plan is to make it into a low pipe.

I need a kit to make cables
The title says it all. I have four Hodakas. Three are dirt bikes. The fourth is a Ace 100B that has evolved into being a road bike. I never ride it in the dirt so I decided to make it into a pure road bike; street bars, low pipe, K-70 tires. I replaced the original dirt bars with street bars from my ...

Re: What is the prefered method to repair a striped case screw?
It's the case hole that is striped out. The top hole and the post under the sprocket are fine. I didn't know heli coils were available in metric sizes. Where would I find one?

What is the prefered method to repair a striped case screw?
The title says it all. The front bottom case screw for the mag cover/shifter case is completely striped out. I am having trouble shifting into first. Part of the problem could be adjustment, but I think most of the problem that there is a missing screw in the shifter case.

Re: A question about 92 swing arms
Thank you Clarence and Caption Ed.
The 92B+ (24mm axle)is a direct bolt on. The 92B+ arm is wider than the 92B so I had relive the front of the chain guard to get it to slide forward enough. Other than that it was a direct bolt on.

A question about 92 swing arms
I have a 92B with the four bolt hub. I want to convert to the 92B+ six bolt cushion hub.
They have different axle sizes. The 92B is 21mm. The 92B+ is 24mm. I have a 92B+ swing arm. Is it a direct bolt on?
I don't want to tear everything down only to find out it won't fit.

NO ON THE COMPRESSOR! A small bicycle pump works best. It does not take much air.
I also did a thread for iron barrels. check it out.

Victor, yes I plated the parts myself. If I have a few parts to do it's very handy. If I had a large batch I would take them to a pro.

Thank you Vic. I think this topic could be expanded into a Resonator article. My "What's The Secret" question is, How do you remove and replace piston rings without breaking them? I am rebuilding a 94 Wombat engine. The piston and bore are good. The plan is to run a hone through the cylind...

Condenser Question
I'm about to replace the points and condenser on my Ace 100. I want to remove the condenser from the magneto assembly and mount it remotely near the coil. What condenser do I want? Does it matter? Is a condenser a condenser?
