Has anyone here sleeved a Alumiferic cylinder? I have an 03 cylinder that I plan to bore out on my lathe. I'm concerned about the port areas breaking from the boring bar. Any suggestions.

Re: 22 mm Mikuni float height
Problem solved, stator plate screws loose. Also I forgot to mention the Ace 100 has a Mega Fire ignition. I installed it years ago. Bullfrog (Ed) and I had a conversation about that device years ago. Search in archive for the post. Thanks to everyone who posted. There are two types of the Mega Fire ...

Re: 22 mm Mikuni float height
I should have mentioned these items. Mikuni carb is a 22mm and is new, it came with a 30 pilot and 100 main jet. The slide is a 2.0. I modified the Ace manifold to accept the larger flange. The carb I replaced was a stock 20mm Mikuni. It ran well but was hard to start. I thought the problem would be...

22 mm Mikuni float height
I recently installed a 22mm Mikuni on my Ace 100 Trials bike. I've tried at 7/8" and 1.0" but bike is very hard to start and seems to run out of fuel at higher rpm's. Any suggestions?

Is that a standard sleeve or something made for this project. I'm thinking of sleeving a 03 cylinder. Do you have a picture of 15/16 mm wrist pin? Awesome project!

Re: Case Reed 125 Hodaka Project
Several years ago I made taper roller bearing cups for a Dirt Squirt. I had to replace the stem with a longer one. Its funny, the bearing bore is 1.00", and if I remember correctly the threaded end is 18 TPI. It works very well and is easy to adjust. Bad thing is it ads some weight. The bearing...

AHRMA Vintage Motorcycle Days
This coming weekend (July 13, 14 and 15th) AHRMA is holding vintage motorcycle days at New Jersey Motorsports Park, located in Millville, NJ. Millville is located in Southern, New Jersey. ahrma.jpg I'll be there with 3 Hodaka's and maybe some parts for sale. Should of posted this sooner, but didn't....

Re: pictures for ED
Mike Perrett told me a couple of months ago I should post a picture of the broken ball receiver. I was reluctant to learn the posting process but it was very easy. The ball receiver was in my Ace 100 Trials bike. I'm pretty sure a new one was installed when the engine was rebuilt. That was the bike ...

Ed, Have you seen this before.
I'm trying to post a picture of my 5 piece ball receiver. The motor was stuck between gears. Now for the pictures.

Anyone know the float setting for one of the new 22mm Mikuni carburetors? It has the old style brass float.

If it is not epoxied, just unwind one wrap. Scrape the coating for soldering. I wrap the coil with hi temp tape.

What happened to the flywheel? Looks like the bottom is completely destroyed. I believe a Suzuki has a stator that will work.
Anyway good luck.

I can't help with the crank. You and Jake should come to the PVR swap meet in York. I'll bring the ED frames and the one swing arm I have for you. I think there are some more parts I could bring.

I know this a little late. A Road Toad cylinder will not fit Ace 100 cases, the stud spacing is not the same.

Mega-Fire ignition module
To Bullfrog "ED", Ed I installed one of the Mega-Fire modules on my Ace 100 Trialer several years ago. It has worked fine for all those years. Recently I was doing some work on the electrical. When I was setting the timing, when revving the motor the timing would retard. If the mark on the...

Re: Flabbergasted
Jack, Found the article. Strictly Hodaka, FAQ, technical articles. Says 300 to 400 MJ. If you would like I'll send you some jets, just send them back when you find the right one. I'll check what I have. I should have from 200 to 440, the 420 is in my bike. Nice thing about those carbs, its easy to c...

I think it can be found on the Strictly Hodaka site. Maybe under articles concerning Hodaka. The Rat motor does have a larger intake manifold and probably transfer ports.

Re: Flabbergasted
Here is what I ended up with my early rat motor. I added the reed valve, the jetting that worked was 190/200 main, 25 pilot and needle clip on the top groove. The bike ran OK, but was too rich in the middle range. I gave up several times trying to get it right. Finally I found out the needle and nee...

Piston looks like it is wooden. Oak for high performance or maybe pine to soften the power.

After I struggled removing the swing arm bushings on my Dirt Squirt. Decided the next time to use the right size hole saw. Don't know if that size is available but that is what I would try.
