rear sprocket

Can anyone tell what sprocket this is on my flat tracker. I think it is a ace rear hub but the sprocket has more bolts than normal, look like about 10.

Re: correct brake shoes for this hub

Looks Like an ace 100 front hub but some others can chime in a say for sure.

Re: Super Rat (98) CDI Rotor HELP!!

I would only use the correct puller, any other style puller could damage the rotor because you are pulling on the outer part. Sometimes they are on there pretty good and the rotor is not hardened steel and could be deformed. Once that happens you are going to be seeking a new one.

It screws into the fork leg. Take a philips screw driver and turn counter clockwise.

Re: Super Rat (98) CDI Rotor HELP!!

A impact wrench is what I use, it is just a regulare thread. Lefty loosy. Yes you will need the correct puller to get it off.

That is an early model 90, the tail light gives it away. They are very easy to work on and a fun project also.

Re: Hodaka flat tracker

Anyone in the Fresno Calif. area going to Hodaka days? I am trying to figure a way to get the 2nd Larry Powell bike and someone mentioned they might know some one from the Fresno area that could get it to HD. If that works out anyone from Dallas area going and have room to bring it back? I would kic...

That is a nice looking bike. Is that a Swenco front end and swing arm? Is it a 100cc?

Re: Hodaka flat tracker

I thought about having the tank painted but were would you get those old school Hodaka stickers and it needed some patina. I started to not even paint the frame but some one had done some touch up paint work and it looked bad. It is one of my favorite bikes just to look at because to me it looks fas...

Re: Hodaka flat tracker

Last picture of the finished product. I need to thank Paul for all his help on parts, more than once I made an online order and then thought of something else I needed and Paul would make sure to ship the extra pieces. He even sent one part at no charge. Now that is service at its best.

Re: Wombat left main crank seal

I know the Ace 100 and 90's you needed to leave a little bit of the seal sticking out so you do not block the oil hole to the left crank bearing. I just rebuilt an Ace 100 and the seal was pushed flush to the case, that bearing had seemed to suffer some compared to the other side.

Re: shifting Adjustment

I will check if it shifts into 3rd like you said, I think it does. George Cone rebuilt my shift case so it is like new. I was concerned with the binding when it was out all the way and maybe to far past first the binding would occur and it needed help going back in to 2nd or nuetral. I have seen the...

Re: shifting Adjustment

Laurie I did get a set of the space age springs from Paul and installed them when I had the cases split. I did notice when the control shaft was a little further out than should engage 1st gear the shaft was binding a bit. I did not think it would be an issue because the control rod should never get...

Re: shifting Adjustment

I found that 3rd gear was the best spot for me to tighten or loosen the lock nut when doing the adjustment. I noticed that when trying to get first the control shaft does not seem to pull out far enough to engage the gear but when it does it seems to go to far. After that it is hard to get back to 2...

Re: Hodaka flat tracker

I freshened up the bike and almost done. Need to mount the pipe and double check all fasteners etc. but it came out pretty good. The seat did not come out like I would like but I did the best I could. The foam was total dust and the cover is torn in a few places so I glued a couple of pieces of foam...

ace 100 forks

On my 100 flat tracker I can't remember what way the forks spring seat parts went together. I have 2 plastic pieces that will fit in and center the spring and 2 flat washer like pieces that could go on top or bottom of the springs. I think the platic parts went on top of the seal washer and the othe...

crankshaft

Check out the pictures of the rod on this Larry Powell flattracker I have. Never seen a rod ground down like that, Paul said Harry use to do it also. The crank is also stuffed and looks to be balanced or something as some pins were added near the crank pin. It also had some self aligning main bearin...

I need to find some reed petals for the bike and not sure what reed it has. I don't think it is a GEM because they usually say GEM on the cage I think. Re: Hodaka flat tracker

Well I finally got some time to work on my new bike and pulled the top end off and stripped it down to paint the frame. I can not believe the rod on this bike. It looks like a butter knife it is so thin. Larry must have shaved off more than half the rod it seems. I can't believe it never snapped in ...

Re: Hodaka flat tracker

I hope the shifter cover does not need any parts because I bet the special parts are not to be found. It seems ok other than the arm the goes into the control shaft spool feels a little loose but not sure how much play they normally have.
