Wombat wheel interchange?

I am refurbishing a 94 Wombat, not trying to be a show winner, but a hope it will be a decent looking dual purpose bike for the women in our big family. The current wheels are badly pitted from being underwater for some time, and won't clean up completely. They definitely detract from the bike. I ha...

Re: Wiring harness routing Wombat 94

Thanks, Rob. That is a great looking harness you have there. I know where everything goes, it's just the routing around the frame, tank rear mount, and battery box. The front part is easy, I took some pics prior to removal.

Wiring harness routing Wombat 94

My renovation of this bike has got to the stage where the tank, seat, and air filter are ready to mount. Can anyone out there post a picture of the top of their Wombat with the seat removed? I need to see how the various wiring components are arranged around the battery box, frame and tank mounts. T...

Wombat 125 air cleaner paint gloss, model 94

So, I bead blasted my air cleaner a few weeks ago, and didn't take note of the paint. It's black, but is it a gloss, a semi gloss or a flat black? If there is a particular brand that seems best, let me know please

Re: Need help with tires

Yes, they do. The G P -1 is available in all the old sizes, and I can probably get it here. That brand is usually inexpensive, only problem is that it is not much of an off road tire, so will continue to search for something more aggressive. Thanks for your tip.

Need help with tires

I am rebirthing a 73 Wombat 94, and have appreciated all the advice from this site. Here in Canada we don't have the same access to all the tire brands that members in the lower 48 have, and I have been frustrated trying to find a pair of off road tires that match. The problem is the rear 3.00 by 18...

Wombat Frozen swing arm bushings

So, read the previous threads, and watched the videos on how to remove these 44year old bushings. I have soaked mine, used a suitable sized socket and a bfh, but no movement. Was wondering whether the rubber in the bushing would withstand 30 minutes in the powder coating oven, or some selective torc...

Removing steering head bearing outer races, wombat

Should I be removing the upper and lower alloy bearing races prior to blasting this frame? If so, how do you get them off? I am worried about apply too much force and deforming them. Also, how do you protect the serial plate from blasting[img][img][/i

Noob here, some questions

image.jpeg h image.jpeg image.jpeg Hello from Calgary Alberta. Just picked up a Wombat barn find in pretty tough shape. Although showing 1200 miles and complete, it has moisture damage. Managed to get spark after cleaning up the old points and coils and flywheel, so that is positive. Awaiting new i...
