Re: Ace 100 Shifter Control Shaft Springs
I read the comment that there are no Bums on our forum and we can therefore loan our tools to anyone on here. Matt?

Re: Ace 100 Shifter Control Shaft Springs
Steve, I don't believe anyone is calling anyone a bum here. There is an offer on the table to loan you the proper tool in addition to a strong opinion against doing this modification. I wouldn't consider this modification for myself either however it was described on the Facebook Hodaka Fan Group pa...

Re: 03 Wombat rebuild questions
The 03 Wombat is the only Hodaka model that requires a hole to be drilled when the oil pump is removed. This is for lubrication of the left side crank bearing. The 03 Wombat has 2 oil lines with one designed to provide oil to this crank bearing. This has to be accounted for if the pump is removed. R...

Sandpaper.
Easily get a mirror like finish by starting with 800 then 1000 and finally 1200 grit (or higher). Keep it wet with penetrating oil or WD40.

My home-made chain guard you keep seeing looks, well, home made. Keeps me out of the chain though. Does wipe the tire but the back is open and I’ve done the mud thing enough times in life. This lengthened swing arm brace does add an attachment point and maybe I can get the mount down to one piece r...

Welcome to the Hodaka Club Forum. Your frame and motor numbers confirm Super Rat but that does not mean that someone didn't switch things up. There will be a raised number at the base of the cylinder showing the CC's. The Super Rat would be 98CC. Visual differences between the two models would be th...

It does, provided all the parts are there. Look at the chromed tip. Does it not say Forest Service approved?

Re: Basket Case Confusion x 5
Certainly enough to make one's head hurt! I scratched my head pretty hard on several builds trying to identify what was wrong with my chain alignment. Spending just a few minutes with the Parts Compatibility spreadsheet there are at least 5 different Drive Flange models (70, 71, 92, 94 and 99). Each...

Very clean and beautiful project but for me, I vote for the white number plates. The picture with the 32G is perfect in my eyes. Might be just me... It is certainly striking either way.

The 2 pieces on the right appear to be a spark arrestor for a Road Toad style exhaust pipe. The two pieces bolt together. The little diffuser on the bolt is aluminum. And it will melt if not removed prior to a fire cleaning session...

Max, I really like your jig. Having married new header sections to exhaust pipes I know how critical the alignment is and how difficult it can be. And when you are not your own welder, do overs are not acceptable!

Re: Where to start
As Clarence said, getting the bare metal covered as quickly as possible is a must. And you have a blank canvas to create whatever you wish. Are you planning to rattle can the paint job? If so, there are many options to primer and then paint and then clear coat. Or you can get a pretty good result wi...

Re: Where to start
Shocks? Easiest option is to purchase replacements. OEM style are available from Terry at Hodaka-Parts.com. There are write-ups on dis-assembly and cleanup if that is something you wish to do. Shock bolts? Purchase a superior quality penetrating oil. Kroil is my go to... Spray it multiple times over...
