Re: Hodaka Q&A

94A also went to a 3.50x18 rear tire, where the 94 came with a 3.00x18. Not sure, but that might have been when they changed from 423 chain to 428? Different aluminum cylinders for the 125: 1: Combat Wombat 2: Super Combat 3: 03 Wombat. Regarding chain size, I believe that the model 94 switched ove...

Re: Color

Probably not a Nigerian Police Bike! But someone may have painted it black by choice. Not unusual. Changing things to make it your own, includes paint! Bet there’s red underneath that black! The Model 92’s all were red, with 17” wheels front & rear and 27mm front forks like on the Ace 90, not o...

There are several posts here on the forum that talk about the black framed Ace 100s from the factory. Here is a link to one such post. You can also find information on these bikes in the book, "Hodaka, The Complete Story of America's Favorite Trail Bike" by Ken Smith. https://hodakaforum.c...

Re: Ignition

Speaking of condensers I replaced one on my 94 wombat and it runs a lot better. is it me or would a new condenser make it run much smoother, it's under the tank now ..... Perhaps the work of relocating the condenser eliminated a poor connection. Of course, a shorted condenser will kill the spark so...

Yes, totally normal. Rotate the magneto and you will hear a change in tone when the points break.

Re: Hodaka Q&A

Which poster has a Bee riding a hodaka ? such as Tule Tiger, or Red Baron . Was the 100B the name or the model number? My answer to the first question is the B+. I had the poster on my wall back in the day and the bike in the woodshed. Very fond memories of that B+. For the second question, my gues...

Ken,
Well now we know the rest of the story! I wondered about the repeated credits given to your book and of course didn't realize that those credits were added after the fact. Protecting your publications must be exhausting!

Someone will have one. I have several Road Toad but no 03 Wombat pumps.
Check with Terry by phone once he is back in the office. His schedule is posted on his website (www.hodaka-parts.com).

Re: Engine Crossover Parts?

I haven't looked at the records, but there were several changes that came about with the B+ that provide a good idea. The B+ had a resettable odometer. It also had a 6 bolt cushioned hub as opposed to the 4 bolt non-cushioned hub on the B. The B+ all had a high front fender although, the later B's a...

Re: Engine Crossover Parts?

A parts compatibility list exists. I believe club member Bill Chapman compiled it, but not positive on that. The web pages where it used to live are no longer available but a google search found it on Bruce Young's Hodaka Parts Idaho web site. Here is a link. You can download it from there. The Hoda...

Re: Relocating Condenser

Albert, You are going to have to add some connectors to make this work. Danny has some nice pictures above of his pigtail that he built. You have an option to keep the original connector and just splice into the ignition wire (black). Or you could replace the original connector. I would add a double...

Still worth taking a look at the nozzle. I have a 94 Wombat with a higher VIN number that came to me with a type A carb installed.

Re: New to group/model 94 Carb question

Doug, It was great meeting you and it was a great day on the Bad Rock! As for the model 94 Wombat carburetors, there were two different runs. The early ones had the type A carb and then at frame number C01701 the type B carb was introduced. The type A is generally considered to be good as only a pen...

To contact the administrator (me) for the Hodaka Forum, you can select the "Contact Us" envelope at the bottom right of the page.
As for attachments, Gregg is correct. The types of file types (extensions) are limited to pictures.

Re: Hodaka Days Play Day?

Larry,
This past year, my son wanted to just ride the track but wasn't interested in racing. He paid the AMA and signup fee but not the additional fees for any race class. He had a blast just riding the track during the practice time. I believe that he got all the track time that he wanted.
