Re: Reducing vibration on 96 Dirt Squirt

There is a Hodaka kit that was made for the Wombat. I was going to install it on my CW, but changed my mind.
It is Part Number 948640

Ok, I just got a message from Paul. That is the right kit. Whew! I will be buying more parts I am sure. I will keep the group informed.

Is this the new kit for the 250 SL kick crank? I ordered a kit for Paul. Just not sure if this is what I ordered. I want the new and improved set up.

Re: Some news on the horizon

I found it on the Strictly Hodaka website, although the owner also had it on Craig's list.

My good friend Mike Perrett has one that is highly modified. He recommends I get the new and improved kick crank shaft. I hope Paul still has some left.

Exhaust seems to be stock except for the silencer. Not sure what that is. Tires are new.

Re: Some news on the horizon

one.jpg The wait is over. A member of the ECHJYA added to the herd today. A 250 SL. It has an antique title. 2180 miles. Looks like I finally have a street legal Hodaka. Haven’t had one of those since 1976. If all goes well, I will ride it on the reliability run in Toronto Ohio this June. three.jpg...

Re: Tires

I have a 400 X 18 IRC trials tire on my Ace 100B+. 275 X 21 on the front. Even with the original swing arm length it fits. Tight, but ok. No chain guard though. I guess if I want to, I could custom make one to fit, but it will be tricky. I have since increased the swing arm by 2 inches to increase p...

I know it was mentioned before, but the pilot jet can drive you crazy if it is not absolutely clean. Very small hole.
Ethanol free 91 fuel. YES.

Re: bike jack

This one from MSR Racing works well for me. The rubber pad keeps it stable. It is adjustable for the different frame heights. One push of the peddle and the bike is there. The DS is low, while the Ace is a bit higher. I agree, trying to hoist the bike up at my age in not good for the old spine.

Re: chrome gas tank dent repair

I was talking to a guy at the York bike swap meet and show about "dent removal of Hodaka chrome tanks". He said that if the dent doesn't have a crease, it can be removed using dry ice. :o Yes, dry ice placed against the dent. Works like magic. Worth at try. :ugeek:

Re: Researching the 92A

Well all I know is my Ace 100 bill of sale reads Ace 100 B+. It was bought new from Bill's Hodaka in Exton PA in 1973. The steering head name plate reads 7/1971. The frame and motor numbers are Frame A64971 Motor P53053 1971 100 cc Hodaka Ace 100 B+ Controversy for sure, but I am confident it is def...

Re: PVL ignition systems

Paul,

I was thinking about making at least one of my trail bikes (the 03 motor or CW) more reliable, ignition wise. The condensers and points are such a pain to install.

Hodaka pistons

Group, There has been talk recently about the supply of 100 CC pistons. Especially the Ace, early SR and Road Toads. Also the 03 Wombat 125. If one needs a 2 ring piston for a Toad, what are the options? I have an Ace 100 B+ with a SR reed valve kit from 1974 that is .040 over. It has the dike D rin...

From the lobby, go left. Though the door and turn right. We are in the corner. Hodaka booth on the right, Preston Petty on the left.

See you there. If you get there Saturday night, we usually have a Hodaka dinner somewhere. The AHRMA banquet is the same night. (I think)

I was under the impression that the sprag retainer for the roller balls that had the problem is on the Ace 100. Thought the 125 motors had a beefier retainer.
