Re: PABATCO Snuff or Not's

Ah Yes - Close but no Cigar. Very interesting write up. Being a child of the 60's and into motorcycles starting in the mid 50's I knew about snuff or nots and even had a CL 250 for a short time ( like a lot of other bikes and cars I had - wish I'd kept it). I was so surprised to see the PABATCO refe...

Re: PABATCO Snuff or Not's

Yes - a surprise but definitely a clear PABATCO reference - also a little bit of a surprise to me was several other people jumped in with a couple of photos of cards with snuff or nots they still had. I used to see lots of them on straight pipe Hondas, Triumps, BSA's!!

PABATCO Snuff or Not's

On another Forum for Honda CL 250/305's there was a discussion about Snuff or Nots from the "60's". ) one guy said he had 6 packs of Snuff or Nots made/sold by PABATCO.

Any of you fellows from the Mother Ship remember Hodaka making them????? :o

Re: 100 racer

Ossa95D - What kind of issues did you have fitting up the HT2 pipe and did you have to adapt the header slip fit size or change out the slip fit adapter? I think you said the engine was basically stock - is the pipe "pipey" with that lon skinny stinger???

Thanks LBM

If you decide to do the new pipe I'd be interested in TE pipe especially if it is the Whispering smith pipe. :)

Re: Anyone build Expansion chambers???

Not so good news about Circle T Pipes. Kevin from Circle T answered me and told me he had to shut the pipe building down due to fighting Colon Cancer.

If anyone knows him or even if you don't might be a good thing to send him some positive thoughts and a prayer or two .

Re: Anyone build Expansion chambers???

Thanks Rich and thanks for the measurement for the screw on slip fit adapter. 45mm overall, 36mm to the threads looks close enough to work. I sent an email through the Circle F Pipe site - they listed pipes for Hodaka 100/125's. I'll wait awhile and if I don't get a response I'll call them and see w...

Re: Model 93A Expansion Chamber

That helps - I thought that might be the case - just wanted to verify. What I'm wondering now is if the header pipe is the same length and same bend, shorter or tighter bend? I'm thinking it should be a straight across fit with the exception of rear mounts which is not a problem. I wonder about the ...

No One? :?:

How about a 93B Flame thrower Pipe?

Looks like both pipes are slip on like the 01 & 02 - 93A has a stinger only and 93B has the flamethrower sparkarestor . :)

Re: Resonator Volume 2 Issue 23 comments

I checked out the Eastern Beaver's site and it has lots of good quality wiring supplys. I'm working on a RoadSquirt and will be needing good quality connections. I'll be trying some of theirs!! Good comment.

Model 93A Expansion Chamber

Had several conversations about expansion chambers. Has anyone used a 93A expansion chamber directly on a 01 Dirt Squirt or on a 02 Road toad? I'm wondering if so - was it a pull off and put on situation or did you have to do some modifying. Maybe modifying fins on the head or lengthening the header...

Re: Copper Head Gasket Torque?

OK - I looked at the schematics for the 01 and the 94A. Both show M8 which I take to be an 8 mm stud. So the higher torque in the 200 to 250 inch pound range should be fine - - - - - unless the case thickness where the studs go into is a lot different and would tend to pull the studs out of the case...

Re: Copper Head Gasket Torque?

Thanks - I guess it would of helped if I pointed out I was going to use one on a 01 Dirt squirt. Not sure if the head studs are the same size as the 125's. I have an old but lightly used bar arm style inch pound torque wrench that reads in 25 inch pound increments so I would probably go to 175 on it...

Copper Head Gasket Torque?

I did a search figuring It would be an easy find because the copper head gaskets have been around for awhile but didn't find anything. Anyone using the higher compression copper head gasket that is .010 thick find that they need more then the 170 inch/14 ft lbs torque for a stock .020 aluminum head ...
