Re: More Dirt Squirt Questions
Ahhh Yes - good points all of them. Long term thinking on my part since I just bid on a Dirt Squirt on Evil Bay and trying to find out about the 125 lower end part of the 100 Dirt Squirt. Kind of thinking along the lines of - get the 1976 squirt because it is close enough to pick up, run it for awhi...

More Dirt Squirt Questions
What are the issues in converting a Dirt Squirt or a Road from the 100cc Top end to a 125cc top end?? Should work correct since the bottom end is a 125cc? Do you have to change out the Rod as well as the Jug, head, gaskets? Use the same carb or go to a larger one on the reed cage?? If I read anythin...

Re: 1975 Dirt Squirt O1
Thanks- This one is on Ebay. It's about 400 miles away from the homested so it is kind of close enough to go get. I went back and looked at the forks - you were right on - looks like maybe early Kawasaki forks?? Like you can move the wheel forward and lengthen the wheel base a little. I'm grinding o...

Re: 1975 Dirt Squirt O1
Thanks - That cleared it up pretty well. LBM  The 01 Dirt Squirt is, like you said, a Road Toad without lights. The engine was designed with oil injection, but will run fine on pre-mix with no modes to the engine. There is no force feed to any of the bearings, just a banjo fitting on the in...

Re: 1975 Dirt Squirt O1
WELLLLLLLLLLL I think my spell check didn't work too well and I've got a big long run on sentence. Should be regulator, current limiter and a couple of periods and commas. Clear as mud though!!!

1975 Dirt Squirt O1
Tried the search but couldn't get it to work so trying it this way. I'm looking over (via web) a Dirt squirt. Figured out that it is a 1975 sold as a 1976 and frame /engine numbers say it is the 1975 O1 Dirt squirt. From the Hodaka book I determined it should be reeded and it kinda looks like that m...

Poster for Hodaka Days
Oddly enough I did do a search for this years poster for Hodaka Days using all the combo's I could think of - and I did not come up with anything. I even checked the club site and Could not find one there either. Also kind of interesting was that I did get a "too common a word combo" when ...

Re: Hodaka Road Racer Magazine Article
You Bet. I still suspect you will get more responses. Cool that you did it back in the day - all I did was dream and pull out the info every 10 years or so to reread them- lost them some where along the way. I finely did get a super rat ran a few Mx and a few enduros. I wish I still had it - heck I ...

Re: Hodaka Road Racer Magazine Article
OK - I just verified myself - if you click on the return to Strickly Hodaka link above and go to the Tech section you will find copies of the original conversion info from Hodaka MFG. As a Kid I collected all of these and dreamed of making each of converting to each "model"- I though it wa...

Re: Hodaka Road Racer Magazine Article
Hodaka had Tech Bulletins early on on how to convert to several styles- MX, Trials, XCountry and I believe a Road Racer. I'm pretty sure Paul has those bulletins available on his web site. You will probably get some more answers but a search might help on line for Harry Taylor & Daytona Hodaka. ...

Re: Polished transmission gears
Well except for tires on the ground, brakes and clutches friction is not our friend ( well maybe a little bit on the piston rings). So this sounds like a pretty good way to get all the moving parts moving smoothly and the easier they move together the longer they last and the more HP escapes to the ...
