Re: balancing flywheels

Confounder: Luck. The Step 2 flood stage needs to be exactly 4.1253" higher than Step 1 to get the high water marks aligned properly. Kind of a long shot but the above evidence suggests do-ability.

Re: balancing flywheels

You'd really need to time the "turnover" perfectly and hit the Evaporust on a dime to keep the balance in check. Ultra-shade tree fly wheel MX conversion?

That looks like a perfect waterline. Engine not stuck? That'd be a nice break.

Re: Motorcycle Brands in the 1960's and 1970's

Believe it or not, Pop, my neighbor had one. His dad brought it back from somewhere during his military service. He took that thing everywhere they went so he always had wheels - which we envied.

Re: Clutch question

No feel-able dragging, Captain, and the rolling into N maneuver is SOP here. I have to roll the bike back and forth a little bit and "search" to find N after I've braked to a stop with the clutch disengaged. Thank you, by the way.

Re: Clutch question

Have you checked your free play before digging into the shim stack? Fresh rebuild? Thinned out, worn plates/steels -> less shims.

I think it's called Bullfrog trials bike. Isn't there a picture of one in the Hodaka Book? Check the one-offs and specials chapter.

Re: Throttle differences???

By the time the Super Combat made it through design, prototyping, tooling, and production, the big "4" had the coin to turn out mid-year models that featured significant performance improvements compared to the same bike built six months earlier. That the PABATCO designers had the foresigh...

Re: Throttle differences???

I do know the Wombat throttle has a shorter throw (goes to WOT with less rotation required). Elliptical cable spool. That a big improvement.
