I like the Kendas also! I usually get the Kenda Classic or Trakmaster, 80/100-18. Victor

Re: New members Road Toad in Central Texas
I’ve restored 2 Modrl 99 Toads so far. I have another in waiting. They are fun bikes and the reed valve gives them plenty of zip! I think you’ll enjoy it! My grandson wanted green, but my nephew wanted the red! I call that one the Red Toad. Victor

Re: Combat wombat muffler
Depends on which generation. The Combat Wombat has a flamethrower pipe on the 1st gen bikes, Jan-March or maybe early April. If it has shouldered rims AKA mud catchers. It should get a flamethrower pipe. If it has shoulderless rims, then it should get the later pipe. First gen early mods also get gr...

New Project Arrived Today
A 98 Super Rat (no motor, yet) ended up in my driveway. It’s all there except the motor& number plates & levers & perches. I have the latter. Can order number plates. Posted on the FB Hodaka pages for a rebuildable 98 motor. If anyone here has one they can part with, please let me know. ...

95 & 97 cylinder heads…
They both have a part number on them as 9[]9501. But on the fiche they are 959501 and 979501. Are the identical or do they have different squish areas??? Victor

My best understanding is the number of 175’s made was 603. 600 were sold in the US & the other 3 went to Spain. Victor

David Ditcher has a few sets of wheels he will be selling. He posted on the Fan Page. Says he will take them to Mid-Ohio. So I would contact him ASAP if you’re interested. You can message me for his ph. #. Victor

Re: Hey Captain Ed….
According to Paul Stannard… “The correct rear fender is the IT rear fender. Hodaka used this fender but removed the raised boss areas for a flatter fender. Then used the DOT approved taillight instead of Preston’s.” Waiting to hear back from Paul, but thought maybe Ed knew. Based on what Paul said I...

Hey Captain Ed….
I just bought a new 175SL set of fenders from Paul at Predton Petty!
Can you explain to me the procedure Hodaka used to trim the bumps for the Petty tail light off the fender to make it look like its original?
Here’s a pic of my old original fender.
Thanks in advance! Victor

Re: Howdy yall from Spokane
You have a nice Ace 90 original pipe there! If you are going to use the 100 motor, you’ll find one of several Ace 100 pipes will give you a little more volume moving, especially the Model 92B+ pipe! You could certainly sell that 90 pipe for more than the cost of a useable B+ pipe! But I understand i...

Re: Dirt Squirt model 96 rims
You can find used rims on places like eBay. But things have really gone up in prices. A few years ago you could buy a complete rear wheel or front wheel with a used tire on it, respectable spokes and a fairly clean rim for $40-50 plus shipping. I would tell them to remove the tire to save weight bec...

If you need a 20mm Mikuni carb for an Ace, I have a few in my tool box. I typically don’t sell them but consider trades for other parts with other Hodaka Club members. If you don’t have an item to trade, we can talk. I would be interested in a functional Ace 100 stator! Victor

What needle jet does it have in it now? Every version I see when I look up the Ace90/100 VM20 uses an N6 needle jet with a 4F6 needle. Victor

As I recall, your words were the 26mm spigot carb, on the Toads & 03 Wombat, moves fuel more efficiently than the 28mm CW carb. That’s my recollection of the conversation, here on the forum. Victor

Clarance. Even though I live at 7,000 feet in elevation, I still start with stock jetting. And yes, I follow the steps in the 125 Wombat manual! There’s a reason it’s published. The biggest issues for me can be in the pilot and main jets. Stock pilot jet sizes seem to work well for me at this elevat...

Contact Terry Larson at Hodaka-Parts.com for rebuild parts for your motor. He may also be able to help you with some of the other needed parts. There is also a Steens group on Facebook. I think Bruce Matty admins that page. Asking over there will help you find more of the Steens parts needed. Also t...
