Re: W.A.R.

Nice Sherpa S efkruger. Is that a model 63? I have a m63 with a m44 top end. Just put the original Amal back on and original air cleaner but no pictures yet. That tank is bubbling the paint but I have another that will never see gas. That bubbling paint was with vp race gas so must have had some bad...

bent forks

Anyone have experience straightening slightly bent 30mm Ceriani fork tubes. Hate to trash them and can't seem to find new or used straight tubes.

Re: Can't get my jug on

You have already proved the piston and rings will go in the jug so try again. Mark the locating pins with a sharpie to help keep every thing lined up and it should be fine.

Use graphics that have the little holes in them, can't recall what they call them but they use them on Yamaha plastic gas tanks and Can Ams.

Re: Day One - New Project

I have some Bultaco's and you must heat the piston to get the pin in so a tight pin should not be a problem but most Jap bikes are the thumb push style. Most likely the clips did not seat properly because wrong clips or? I have never had a clip come out with over 50 years of riding, racing.

Paul you have been nothing but good to me and I for one hope you keep selling all those parts you had reproduced or sourced we need. You can not please all the people all the time and it is a shame that you have to experience those types.

Re: Installing Bearings

Heat the cases and throw the bearings in the freezer over night and they usually just drop right in. I use my gas grill to heat the cases or you can use a torch.

Re: Crank sizes

Can you press the bearing out with the crank still in the bearing then use a bearing puller to remove the bearing?

Re: Fuel and mufflers

I would steer clear of castor oils unless you like carbon build up. 32 to 1 with Yamalube R or Golden Spectro a better choice IMO. Those old mixing recommendations are from way back when oil was not as good as today's lubricants.

market place adds

Why would someone post and add on Paul's market place and then never respond to questions? Must not want to sell or maybe they have already sold the bike. I just thought it strange behavior.

Re: oil migration

Did you pressure check the engine? I would pressure test and go from there. Oil brand is a hot topic but I have never seized a motor with race fuel and Yamalube R at 32 to 1. Surely you are running ethanol free fuel and a good quality oil but I would think about a oil change if jetting seems OK. I a...

Very nice Rich, that would be in my living room. I know that nickel plating is expensive and hard to find anyone that even still does it. I have a Trackmaster frame I wanted re-nickeled before I found out the cost and no one wanted to fool with it.

He again had bike trouble but he was fast. It grooved up but Barry could ride up high and never shut off and was a threat. Th...

Re: axle help

That is exactly what I did Max. It worked out really well and I had enough left over to make another for a set of forks I am going to use on another brand that I am fitting a set of Cerianis forks to. I was afraid it would not clamp down on the axle good enough with the slot cut in it but it worked ...
