Re: Day One - New Project

Max check this out on carb signal. http://www.klemmvintage.com/mikuni-tuning.htm How “Signal” Affects Jetting - The subject of inlet signal can be very lengthy and complex, so we will stay with an abbreviated version as it relates to your jetting. Many folks believe that air entering the mouth of th...

Re: Gear Box oil for 73 Combat Wombat

AFF.jpg This is the oil that I use in my hodaka and have had great results. My transmission parts are isotropic polished so I think that helps with wear and keeping the trans oil clean. I started out changing oil about every 400-500 miles and the oil was just like new, so I started to go longer bet...

The dyno run is done in forth gear, it starts at 3000 RPM and this run was shut down at 10,000 RPM. We did some to 10,500 RPM ....but man I didn't wont to blow it up so we shut it down at 10,000 RPM. DG

Re: Wombat Dyno

Here's the dyno run for the circle f and the CPI pipe. As I said earlier the CPI is a bit soft on the TQ down low compared to the circle F. For a first try at making a pipe for a hodaka I think CPI did a great job! I have showed Mike the dyno run and he ask me to bring the pipe back for some changes...

Re: Wombat Dyno

I ran the new CPI pipe on the dyno and this is what we got. The CPI made 15.65 HP at 7554 and the circle f made 14.28 hp at 7332. The CPI made 11.00 tq at 7405 and the circle f was 10.37 tq at 7218. The pipe would be a great pipe for a combat wombat that was a play bike / race bike. The low end tq i...

This is the new pipe that CPI Racing made for the hodaka. Today I'm going to Tim's (TTR Performance dyno) to see what it does and see if we need to make changes to it. DG

Can the 100 road toad cases be turned into 125 cases? and if so what transmission can be used in it 94, 95 or just the road toad? Thanks DG

Re: Day One - New Project

Except that the thumb-push fit "specification" for OEM ART pistons has proven to be valid over the years - I don't know if the same thumb-push fit is required for Wiseco pistons. Piston pins which are too tight in ART pistons will cause a "four-corner" seizure. I don't have a ve...

Re: Day One - New Project

Harry said to use a pipe from a bultaco trial bike and it is a lot shorter overall, to the one you have. Could this be part of the problem with your jetting? Also looking at your piston it looks like the EX side has got hot...could this also be part of the pipe problem? If the pipe is not scavenging...

Re: Day One - New Project

I checked the wire OD on a hodaka clip and it is .048 and a weisco clip is .038......so it may not be sitting down in the groove.

Max Tq from a 125?

I have a question about how much tq you can get from a vintage air cooled 125? We made 11.3 tq with the pipe Tim made but it had no over rev. the circul F pipe made less tq 10.37 but had more RPM. My qustion is how much tq can a vintage 125 make? I would like to hear real numbers not stuff that some...

The Blue lines look like more fun to me The pipe that we used for the blue line dyno run was a fun one to ride. We have changed some stuff from the last dyno run and it is running better now with than ever. My friend (Tim) that made the pipe and did the dyno run's is having some health problems.......

I checked and I came up with 33cm from center of axle. I set the bike on a stand then used a level to get the top of the tire to the center of the axle. DG

Re: My 03 Wombat lives!!..well maybe soon.

I need to say up front that the engine we tried the reeds on is not a race engine and has not been run over 8500 RPM. So I can't say how the reed's that Rich sales will work over 8500 RPM. Danny Cooke told me about a Husky 125 reed from Boyesen that is almost a bolt in for the hodaka, #613 is the pa...
